Stan Lee and Pool Man make a damn good 3rd pair!

TEAM D! I thought these guys were not supposed to be capable of TEAM D!

Jets brought their inner New York Islanders.

Helle with the SO - but Smith held Oilers in it, especially in the first. Jets could have been up 3-0.

Obviously hate seeing a guy injured but you can tell already Leafs fans now have their excuse lined up when they get knocked out of the playoffs.
Sucks that he got hurt especially on a freak accident like that.
But you are correct. An easy excuse if they don’t make at least the final 4 now.

AND THAT RIGHT THERE IS WHY YOU DONT BET AGAINST YOUR OWN f***ING TEAM. YEAHHH BOYYYYSSSS.

A REALLY NICE GAME ALL ROUND

Never, never ever, bet against your own team. Winning the bet doesn't give you consolation. It leaves you feeling sad for that lost game AND feeling really dirty for the filthy money you won. Double whammy.

So ...... of all the people who picked Oilers in that poll, only Oilers in 6 and Oilers in 7 remain alive.

Posted this on the main board

Have to love the narrative out of Edmonton, the Jets are cheating because they won’t let our poor McDavid score, why are they checking him so much, it’s not fair….and their goalie is stopping all our shots, that’s not fair….

lol, I fell asleep just before the OT started and the goal woke me up. I am a old old man. Great win! We've either set ourselves up nicely for a first round victory or we've set ourselves up nicely for a huge disappointment! lol...as always, I'm hoping for the former.

Happens to the best of us :P I knew that when I was woken up at 5am and I didn't get a nap in that this could happen. Almost went the distance, but apparently caffeine and energy drinks only get you so far >.>

I didn’t predict anything coming into the playoffs because it’s the playoffs. I did comment that I was glad we got our losing streak out of the way when we did.

I still have no idea what will happen in this series but am trying to enjoy the journey.

Maurice isn't a complete dummy that doesn't know anything about coaching in the NHL after all . Can't wait for a rested Ehlers to get back in the lineup, even if he doesn't score the guy draws a penalty every game just with his speed.

I think you are right, and the qualifier may be that Mo (and Huddy) gives Coach Lowry plenty of respect when it comes to team direction.

I would not rush Nik back yet, but we could use his game breaking ability. I agree I think this has been a tough season on PLD from day one he just needs to hang in for now.

It's funny that you would post that, as I was thinking exactly the same thing ?? What to do with Ehlers ?? Just on Thursday he was in a yellow "no contact" jersey, which tells me his injury is not stable enough to take a hit, which I think is his shoulder ?

Now that was only 2 days ago, so if you insert him too early into the lineup, before it's healed properly, he could aggravate it, and it could get worse. It's a very tough call to make IMO, as we need his breakout speed.

Considering we're up 2-0 in the series, and we've shut down the top 2 players in the world, it may be very wise to rest him at least 1 or 2 more games. I wonder what the call will be on Ehlers, but I don't think we'll see him on Sunday -- but maybe the game after, if we lose Sunday.

If we win the next game on Sunday, and go up 3-0, maybe we won't see Ehlers til we meet the next opponent, if we advance, which would be very likely. ?? Interesting situation here.

I'm sure Nikky is dying to get in there right now, and asking to play.

 What does it take to get 5 out of 5, :stanley: ?

- game 7 - score 9-1 Jets
- Helly with a shutout, despite the score
- Coach Lowry signs contract in the second period, joins son on 3rd line, scores natural hatty
- Pierre Luc Dubois becomes a Jedi Master, waves hand at Smith, and says 'Allowing goals is fine"
- Coach Maurice does the presser in a pink Tutu and plays the swan in a short improv
- The Zamboni driver, a secret Jets admirer, goes crazy and puts vehicle through the short wall as the Jets celebrate mid-ice
- KFC's skates never actually touch the ice
- After the game Mark Stone is swamped with emotion, and admits that Vegas was a giant mistake, lawyers up, and signs in sweet home Manitoba for 1.5 million AAV x 9

Here is a question that my dad brought up to me. If we win Sunday do we give Helly Monday off or do we go for the jugular?
As others have said start Helly in both.

My higher-level question for the league is WHY are the 2 North Division series forced to unnecessarily play back-to-back games in the playoffs when no other Division's series are forced to? It's not like the rinks are really booked up with other events that are forcing this so unfortunately the answer is possibly ?TV/ratings/long weekend? No reason why game 4 couldn't be Tuesday instead of Monday but it is what it is: stupid.
