Jets started out great.

Aves pushed back but the Jets didn't fold.

Jets end it with a bang!

Thank you Heather Locklear!

Yes Hives... good good... more...

Further to the getting Pionk'd...

Only because you posted a song about an exploding pocketwatch, I need to post the only other song I know of that features that as a motif. And yes, this is the song that taught me that "steampunk" isn't just a fashion disaster, it's a musical genre.

This calls for some Clutch.

Bear with me folks. :) I love me some Clutch.

And for the sing-a-long

Well I crashed a Cadillac through the Gates Of Hell
And returned with a Fist Full Of Dollars
And Evel Knievel, like Virgil
Was a gentleman as well as a scholar
I fly like a Retro-glide buckshot
And you know I hang like a hex on a barn
Grind the guardrail like a nail on a file
Above and beyond the hole nine yards
Well I rolled Jesse Helms like a cigarette
And smoked him higher than the highest of the minarets
Jesse James couldn't even handle it
Started looking at me like I was Sanskrit
'Cause in the Great Shining Path of the Great Monster Trucks

Holy shit, before I could even finish bitching about Pionk / Lowry / Appleton to start overtime.. damn.

After my adrenalin dies down, I'll use the opportunity to cite this as evidence of the massive variance in 3v3 OT :P
Outright shocking, considering Lowry scores 6 goals per year, and Appleton, not many more. Yet they win the game -- it is shocking, but great for the Jets. I would have never started those guys in overtime.

Despite the win I'm not a fan of playing not to lose in OT.

There was a game against the Paul Maclean coached Sens (I think), where the Jets started Buff, Scheifele, and Wheeler I think it was against what was essentially their 3rd line. It went pretty much exactly as you'd expect. I think the Jets ended it in like 30 seconds.

May have even just been Connor, Scheifele, Wheeler :dunno:
How does a team defend at 3 on 3?

I missed the game as I was up at the Owen Sound/London game. I was able to listen to the 3rd on the way home and it sounds like they played well. I’ve been a pretty hardcore follower of Stanley but I’m glad Slamberg went in for him, how did Samberg fare against the Avs and how did the new pairings work out. Good to see Perfetti coming on and for Pionk to show all the haters
Looking ahead to the draft, Barlow is good at hockey!

I'm assuming it was some kind of "Sneak them out, trying to steal home ice, hoping that Bednar just rolls out his top line and doesn't notice he ran them into our best defensive trio". I've run that scam in fantasy replay leagues more often than I can recount. It also had the good fortune for us scoring against their top 3 :P but that's the best answer I have as to why.

Not sure how Giorgiev has such a poor angle there that Pionk can hit the far corner as a right hand shot. Like, it was a great shot don't get me wrong but it really shouldn't go in.
As a goalie who's lost his angle many times...

Handedness isn't the factor per se. It's where the puck is

Samberg was solid. Our defense was much more mobile with him in there.

The Jets look like they have a real winner in Perfetti, and have done such a great job on their drafting. If Lambert works out, they will be hugely strong upfront. The thing they will have to do is rebuild that defence, with some size, and puck moving guys, that can skate.

Man I can't wait for Lambert - you can just tell he has crazy finishing skill. Reminds me of Kyle Connor.
