Yeah it was a good game but they should have converted all that zone time into better chances, I wouldn't be surprised if the zone time numbers for this game were totally lopsided in favor of the Jets. This should be easy to fix.

My understanding is that, to use poker terms, we won a lot of small and medium pots and, occasionally, got caught with our hands in the cookie jar and losing a monster. On balance though, it was kind of an even game and between our 2nd period and our overtime dominance, if we weren't at LEAST even chances with them, it wasn't off by much.

Not bad for a team playing an extremely untested backup goalie on minimal notice.

Statistically he's not wrong though and we did end up losing that game pretty handedly... Also seriously, complaining about an avatar? That's kind of petty. Long story short if it bothers you that much, just ignore him so you don't see his posts. It's nice to have different viewpoints on a forum.
lost handedly when we were 1 inch away from winning the game in regulation...and it's not just about his avatar, it's about every post he makes

That wasn't the most brilliant game by the Jets, but at least it was compelling.
And Comrie is now 2-0. Definitely wasn't expecting that.

And the Atlanta Braves have won the World Series!
Ted Turner would have been so proud.
What? He's still alive? Too bad his cable channels have been operated by shitty owners after shitty owners.

Post-Game Talk: - Cali nightmares Jets lose 4-3

it was in a pgt but he's done it in pgt as well, he's also been called out for being overly negative towards the jets. people brought up the avatar he uses which he claimed he was going to change it but the jets were playing better and he didn't want to jinx it, that was from before the nhl shut down with covid

Use the ignore feature dude, you have my blessing.

I pointed out how well Wheeler played, one of the most maligned players on this board (whose support is certainly not winning me any friends around here). This place is for good meaningful discussions about hockey positive or negative... not for just "Go Jets! They played great". Go to reddit if you want that are this triggered by someone pointing out the D taking too many dumb shots.

I'll take it in any case, it's infinitely more enjoyable to watch games like these versus the majority of games for the past 3-4 years. Still get the jitters with Comrie, but he's stepped up so far.

In San Jose the Jets did not deserve a point. In fact they were lucky.

Tonight's game was the opposite, Dallas is lucky to come out with a point.

Comrie.:thumbu:

PLD: If he regularly can play like he has this season so far PLD is a game changer for the Jets SC hopes.

JoMo: He is back!!! Love watching him play with so much confidence again.

Ehlers: Sooner or later the dam will break and Ehlers will just score a bunch of points.

Scheifele: He may no longer be the Jets best forward. This will piss him off and we will see a Scheifele take his game to another level this season.

Connor. No points yet dominate the game. Is Connor the Jets best forward now???

Points in 7 straight games yet the Jets can play so much better. If this team can ever put it all together consistently THEY ARE A SC CONTENDER.

Entertainment value is a legit part of the equation ;) and yes, Comrie has absolutely cooked me up two games of crow thus far. I hope there's many more such dinners all year, as I'd be over the moon if we saved the cap space from signing Brossoit yet got an equally worthwhile backup.

Plus, personal note, my literal favorite gambling haunt in North America is in Tri-Cities WA and he's like a local hero there. They see my Jets jersey and he's the first guy they talk about. ;)

yeah, because it's just about you saying the d took to many dumb shots, not the vast majority of your posts being negative for the team you "cheer for"

Give it up man, just ignore him. You clearly don't want to see any criticism about the Jets, and that's totally fine, that's what the ignore function is for so you can filter out that content.

Scheif the Knife!

Thoughts on the game...

  • Scheifele continues to prove why he's our best player.
  • PLD continues to make us second-guess the above point.
  • Is there any player not named Connor McDavid who skates better than Ehlers or Connor? Name one.
  • Second solid game in a row by Comrie. I feel my confidence in the back-up building, and I bet the team does as well.
  • I love this year's version of Josh Morrissey... just fantastic.
  • Stanley played an excellent overall game.
  • Pionk continues to make me a little nervous out there. He's like one of those old television sets with bad reception... once he gets slapped a couple of times he'll be alright.
  • Wheeler still has something to contribute to this team, but I think father time has finally caught up speed and quickness-wise.
  • Schmidt has quietly racked up a ton of assists, despite having yet to find his A game.
  • I thought for the most part, Dillon played one of his better games.
  • I loved our top three lines... and I was particularly pleased to see Lowry/Scheifele/Wheeler. It really felt like we had three number one lines... like a Team Canada does during the Olympics.

I really liked our game tonight, certainly night and day from the team who played San Jose. Spent a lot of time with the puck in their end on our sticks. PLD is every bit as terrifying to play against in OT as Ehlers or Connor, he'll just take any ice he wants and drive straight to the net. What a monster!
We went back to the Super Star Store and exchanged last year's PLD for the one we wanted. I think last year's had a defect. This one comes as advertised.

I'm fine with criticism about the jets. do you see me quoting anyone else? there's been plenty of criticism to go around and alot of it deserved. I'm just calling out the person who only posts criticism on the jets

You obviously haven't noticed my posts... lol. That's fine, I apologize for assuming. For what it's worth though, both myself and JetsFan815 if my memory serves me correctly were incredibly positive when the Jets were actually good in the 2017-18 season.

Bottom line for me is we won. I'd love for us to win 10-0 going away every game but that is never going to happen. There are areas we need to be better in but we won with our BUG in net, 55 only playing his 3rd game of the season, Wheeler his 4th and Booloo in the lineup(lol).

And considering the large distraction the team has had to deal with this past week I think we are doing ok. Certainly better than 2 games into the season.

The 3rd period tonight was a little stressful. Was on the road driving(not a good thing when the Jets are trying to hang onto a lead in the 3rd) and I'm pretty sure the death grip I had on the steering wheel has messed it up somehow but now I can relax with a glass of port and a cigar and say to myself 5-2-2 ain't half bad.

Well it was so much fun to be back at the barn for a live game. Masks didn't kill the buzz? The projector is cool and I had a blast.

There are still elements in all of our schemes that continue to need refinement but we are starting to gel and look more cohesive out there.

I'm really happy with going with three balanced lines as it gave Dallas fits and it will give moat teams fits.

Loved our OT period as we just skated circles around them.

Comrie did what he needed to do tonight and gave us a chance to win. He was hung out to dry on the first two goals and made a number of key saves. He's doing his job as a backup.

Morrissey and Schmidt: they had a couple of hiccups early but settled in and aged a strong game after. Love Morrissey's aggression and he's got that one time down from that spot. Looks like we may be getting that d plus 1 PA goal scoring version. Schmidt continue to move the puck so well in the offensive end.

Pionk/Dillion: Thus pairing continues to look better as they play more. Pionk though made a big error on their first goal and took a key penalty in the third. He can play better then he is. I thought Dillion played a hard and tough game.

Stanley/Beau/DeMelo: loved Stanley's positioning and physicality today. He was all over Dallas. Beau was ok, jumped up well and managed the puck in his end better. I thought DeMelo was the weak link today in that rotation.

Dubois/Conner/Svech: Dubois wasn't quite as sharp as he has been with the puck but his hybrid game still gave Dallas fits. He was a boss in OT. Conner played a good game but has been better this year. Much better on breakouts though. Svech shows some good things but does try to be too fancy at times.

Scheifele/Wheeler/Lowry I thought this trio played very well for the most part but had trouble with the final play all night at 5 on 5. Wheeler was skating well and working hard. The one critic was that he tried to force that final pass when he was on alone and in a prime shooting spot. Lowry I thought deferred to much in the offensive end. There was one play where he could have walked the puck out for a point blank chance but tried to force a pass to Blake. Scheifele played well for his first game in a couple of weeks. I liked that he walked in and shot from HB on our second pp goal. Him doing that gives the PK players something else to worry about.

Copp/Ehlers/Stastny: Ehlers was flying tonight but just couldn't get his shots through most of the night. Still a good night. Copp was solid but not really noticeable offensively tonight. Paul had a good all around night.

Harkins wasn't great again and Toninato was fine.

Connor was the perfect example tonight of why it’s so important to have speed on the ice overtime. He was constantly beating people to pucks. It wasn’t even fair at times.
Love his effort this year.
Speed in OT. More please!
