Getting rid of the replacement level D has increased the puck handling ability inside the offensive zone. This is something I've noticed in a general way. Schmidt is a breath of fresh air. Lots more quality shots getting through (no idea if this is actually backed by data but not seeing Poolman flub it into shinpads is nice).

Schmidt is really good at passing the puck and his passes have alot of zip. Guys like Scheifele, Connor, Ehlers and PLD should get alot of nice opportunities this season.

Jets have quite a stacked team now, and should be able to contend for the Cup. There's no glaring weaknesses on this team, as far as I can see.
