^ Roslovic is playing better but he still isn't scoring and that is really problematic!

Very true what you say on Roslovic, but his overall play is great now. If he can start putting the puck in the net --we could have a real winner in Roslo.

Yeah, would be nice to see him convert more. He's getting himself in good positions to score though, and coming up with the puck a lot.

No, the standard is still the crossbar. But even when he's crouched, his head doesn't go lower than the crossbar, and the puck was over his head.

According to the explanation last night the standard is the shoulder of the player involved.

I agree it was a high stick, but if he straightened up normally it would have been pretty close. And refs are prejudiced in favour of their original ruling. They don't like admitting mistakes. Surprise! Plus the rule calls for it to be quite clear before overruling the original call.

Not a good call but not one to lose sleep over. We have certainly seen worse.

1) Helle is playing at a SP% of around 93 % and that should get us into the playoffs, if he can keep it up.

Let's not forget Helly last year rationalizing his slow start by saying he didn't want to peak too soon.

Maybe he's peaking too soon. ;)

Full merit for the win last night by the Jets btw. They were the much better team from about the 10 minute mark on. Bit of a slog still offensively but showing better signs. Like how they are going weak side on the break out more, I thought that’s where they were most dangerous. Forwards getting deep to support the D is obviously effecting their transition game but on the plus side its helping them not flip the puck into the neutral zone as often. The D played well between the blue lines, that’s where they controlled the game against Calgary, forced dump ins and really gapped them hard at out blue line, which is the key to their transition game. It’s easy to tell that is their game plan.

Great to see Morrissey bounce back
Real nice game from Rosie and CLR in general, minus the Lowry hit.
Helle is looking a lot more like the Vezina candidate Helle each game.
Pionk continues to prove he’s a very good hockey player.
Poolman was pretty solid but is still a bit slow to process with possession in the D zone.
Please replace Bourque with anyone else not named Letestu. He’s completely irrelevant.
The PK still kills me, the strange box +1/ diamond hybrid they employ is hopeless. Kuli and Potato should never kill penalties together.

Great event by Saskatchewan, best crowd you’re likely to see at Mosaic, on account it was pretty much devoid of Rider fans :)

Haha make no mistake when they announced the Rider win over Edmonton the crowd erupted. Though you could also hear the audible gasps from the few Eskimo fans in attendence.

Did Edmonton fans make the trek just to cheer against the Flames?

He's outplaying Blake so far. Okay... that's not saying much, but this is the best we've seen Jack look at the NHL level to date.

He's playing with Lowry. It will take a miracle for him to score 7 goals.
While I get where you’re coming from, if Brandon Tanev can manage 14 playing alongside Lowry, a guy with Rosie’s talent should as well.

I like the way he’s been playing and that line has asserted its dominance more and more each game. He’s been a bit snake it, just needs to keep it up and they’ll start going in. He’s had lots of space playing with Copper and Lowry, the goals will come.

They should just make it over the touching player's shoulder, period, whether he's bent over or not. Eliminate the geometry seminar during challenges.

I still say the high stick whistle should be eliminated at the professional level (not for goals). It's a skill play. The rule has never stopped a player from waving their stick at a puck. The safety concerns are way overblown.

That's fair and I figured that's what the main argument would be. My counter argument to that is basically that Tanev's shooting percentage was crazy high and the type of goals he scored with largely off of turnovers he caused with the forecheck, or relatively low risk shots that happened to go in. Lowry has a role as a shutdown guy but he's not going to sustain a lot of offence for himself or his linemates. And combined with the fact that they aren't deployed to score, I don't foresee a lot of goals for Roslovic this year even if he's playing well.
