Who gets call up from Moose. Shouldn't someone have already been called up?
Is it bourque Gus Letestu?

If you are flat on your ass there’s a decent enough chance your are not the only one down. Wildly swinging your stick in that situation is hardly safe. Plus you are never hitting a puck that’s not on the ice.

Never? Hardly. I see falling and fallen players play the puck all the time. On the ice or not, just so it is in reach. They may be wildly swinging or not.

And you totally miss the point. There is also every elevation between there and fully upright. Hard thing to legislate.

What is the reason for that rule in the first place? Presumably safety. Wasn't reaching up over his head like that last night potentially dangerous enough to warrant a whistle? Of course it was. But the letter of the existing applicable rules went against us, so we want the rule changed. Really? Is there any rule anywhere that is 100% fair and 100% covers the intent at all times?

Did Edmonton fans make the trek just to cheer against the Flames?

I'm willing to guess there are a few Eskimo/Flames cross over fans but there were definitely a lot of neutral fans there. Saw Sharks, Golden Knights, Leafs, Oilers, Canucks, Pens, Flyers, Habs. Pretty much a Jersey from every team.

That's fair and I figured that's what the main argument would be. My counter argument to that is basically that Tanev's shooting percentage was crazy high and the type of goals he scored with largely off of turnovers he caused with the forecheck, or relatively low risk shots that happened to go in. Lowry has a role as a shutdown guy but he's not going to sustain a lot of offence for himself or his linemates. And combined with the fact that they aren't deployed to score, I don't foresee a lot of goals for Roslovic this year even if he's playing well.
That line is getting opportunities, I don’t think it’s a coincidence that this is probably the best we’ve seen Rosie play in his time here, albeit in a very small sample size.
Agreed that most of Tanev’s production was largely luck driven but I think that’s the difference with Rosie. He brings a goal scorers ability to go along with two very sound positional players who are very good at closing down ice and creating space.

Full merit for the win last night by the Jets btw. They were the much better team from about the 10 minute mark on. Bit of a slog still offensively but showing better signs. Like how they are going weak side on the break out more, I thought that’s where they were most dangerous. Forwards getting deep to support the D is obviously effecting their transition game but on the plus side its helping them not flip the puck into the neutral zone as often. The D played well between the blue lines, that’s where they controlled the game against Calgary, forced dump ins and really gapped them hard at out blue line, which is the key to their transition game. It’s easy to tell that is their game plan.

Great to see Morrissey bounce back
Real nice game from Rosie and CLR in general, minus the Lowry hit.
Helle is looking a lot more like the Vezina candidate Helle each game.
Pionk continues to prove he’s a very good hockey player.
Poolman was pretty solid but is still a bit slow to process with possession in the D zone.
Please replace Bourque with anyone else not named Letestu. He’s completely irrelevant.
The PK still kills me, the strange box +1/ diamond hybrid they employ is hopeless. Kuli and Potato should never kill penalties together.

Great event by Saskatchewan, best crowd you’re likely to see at Mosaic, on account it was pretty much devoid of Rider fans :)
Jealousy doesn't look good on you.

Three biggest games at new Mosaic:

1) first ever regular season game: Bombers 43 Rider 40

2) first ever postseason game: Bombers 23 Rider 18

3) Heritage Classic.. Jets 2 Flames 1

Next year they host the grey cup!
As a joke... that list is pretty good. And not too far from accurate.

There are a few games from this Fajardo run that really got that girl hopping. The first game against the bombers yes it stays #1. But the hockey game is #2 and one of the Fajardo games where he stole the reigns has to be #3.

A Grey cup win at home next year would take #1

The Lowry hit was pretty disgusting and I can’t see how anyone could be defending it.

How would you feel if one of our star players was out with a concussion because another team’s physical bottom six player with a discipline history took a run at them?

I hope he gets one or two games off.

Personally I think hockey needs a rule against 2nd man coming in.. When the target of the hit is already engaged in physical struggle with someone else they can end up in vulnerable position. Rubs me the wrong way.

I had an asbolute blast at this game. Easily the most exciting sporting event I've ever attended. Saw tons of people I knew out supporting hockey. Hope we get many more of these in the future.
You've been a die-hard fan, supporter and contributor from away, and deserved it!
I had a blast as well.

There's already rules against boarding. This one was applied properly. Should likely result in a suspension. Massive lapse of judgement on Lowry's part, which will cost his whole team. Fortunately, no serious injury resulted.

While I get where you’re coming from, if Brandon Tanev can manage 14 playing alongside Lowry, a guy with Rosie’s talent should as well.

I like the way he’s been playing and that line has asserted its dominance more and more each game. He’s been a bit snake it, just needs to keep it up and they’ll start going in. He’s had lots of space playing with Copper and Lowry, the goals will come.
The other option with Roslo is to put him on the top line instead of Wheeler. IIRC he's played with Matthews and Tkachuk on the US dev team, and fared well. There is no doubt he has the skill, he now has the confidence and the pucks will go in at this level, for him and his linemates.
Now you've freed a top-6 winger to play on the third line with Copp at center and another skilled winger.
Lowry goes to the 4th line, which is where he belongs on a team stacked at the F position. If he gets suspended, now is the time to try it.

Roso, put the top line down! The top line is for closers! Keep skating hard and you can be an excellent shut-down man some day.

Fell asleep and missed the best part, the third adn OT.

I don't care how we win, as long as we win. Win pretty, win ugly, win wide open, win tight, who cares as long as we win.

A concern is regarding Helle. He is playing so great that it is probably unsustainable. A good problem for us to have as long as it lasts. Good on you, Helle. But our offense is so light, what happens if Helle comes back down to earth even a bit. I hope we get our scoring mojo back soon. Let's start by fixing the powerplay. We have too much talent to have such a weak man advantage.

Go Jets Go!

What do you mean if?

We were told to suck it up, and that it was a clean headbutt, and that Laine needs to keep his head up.

If you don't remember, maybe it wasn't that big a deal to you.
