I meet a lot of Winnipeggers that way actually. I have yet to get a negative reaction. Vancouver is funny. I don't follow the Canucks very closely but I can walk through Yaletown in the afternoon and I can instantly tell if the Canucks have a home game because there are hockey Jerseys in the covered patios. I can tell who the Canucks are playing because there are always tons of opposition jerseys there as well. When Canadian teams play they outnumber the Nucks in those bars and restaurants as do the Penguins and Blackhawks. It's a pretty good place for a road trip to see a game and there are plenty of non BC born residents here, even Americans with Microsoft and SAP having large office complexes in Vancouver.

Vancouver is probably different but I'm on the island and there's a larger Jets presence here than I thought there would be.
