Just using the regional broadcasters is such BS from Sportsnet.

They've actually done a decent job improving the product from the start of their tenure, but this is annoying.

The whole "Hometown Hockey" thing every week is a little tough to stomach. Means they don't analyze the game that's actually happening which sucks for fans of the teams playing, who by and large I assume are the people watching. TBH I could care less about 90% of the features they do, just so uninteresting and over saturated.

I've got friends in Moosechunk. Its not as happening since the gas station closed down.

NHL was really stupid to give exclusive broadcast rights away.

I'll usually defend the SN broadcasters, but aren't these guys the Vancouver regional guys?

Giving it away? Right, the five billion Rogers paid is nothing. NHL wanted to consolidate the rights, it’s not like Bell didn’t match the offer, problem was they disrespected Bettman by not having their CEO wine and dine Bettman, Rogers DID send their CEO to appease Bettman, and I assume a happy ending was involved as they won the rights on basically the same bid.
