McTavish skating with 2 very defensive minded players. I’m not going to sound the alarms and panic yet but this feels concerning. Hope he’s sent back very soon

edit: never mind, he’s not in. Honestly I prefer him being a scratch to playing with Sulfverberg and Lundestrom. Those aren’t the players to play him with in order to develop his offense

I would not be shocked at all if we’re all clamoring for Getzlaf to be replaced by Groulx on the 2nd line soon. I love the guy but he just looks slow, injured and flat out lousy most of the time. Maybe he’ll surprise me though

My unsolicited advice to everyone is just to let this season happen. Some of you are already at a 9 on a 10-scale anger-meter. It's a long 6 months, try to enjoy it.

Quoting this post after the last two pages about the McTavish scratch. Sitting a game won't ruin him. Just take a breath and enjoy watching Zegras play hockey tonight.

Yes that’s why you send him down. If Getzlaf were Getzlaf of 3 years ago then I’d say play him on his wing to start.

I think this is definitely it for him. Last ditch effort to get to 1000. I hope he gets some PP time and does decent there because it’s hard to see him getting points at even strength

I agree, I still love having him on the team. He’s an old school guy that we need around the kids

It’s probably not realistic for this year but I think that comtois- mctavish- terry could be a great middle 6 type line. All three hard workers and comtois and mctavishes grinding abilities could mask some of Terry’s physical deficiencies.

There really is no reason to force Mctavish on the team. I suspect they’ll send him down after the trial if he doesn’t light it up but what a dumbass move to not play him in the opener if you’re going to keep him here for now. God Eakins sucks

let's be honest, the only reason getzlaf is still out there is so he can get to 1k

and this team is garbage anyways so no point in benching him. let him try and get to 1k and watch what will likely be his last season
