This is fantastic!
He’s obviously on a great team, but if Mcgroarty goes over a point per game as an 18 yr old, does he make the NHL next year?

I'd say no, honestly considering how many goals they score I'm actually a little disappointed in his production. It's crazy how stacked Michigan still is despite losing Blankenburg, Power, Beniers, Johnson, and Bordeleau in one off season.

If McGroarty excels in college this year and goes PPG+, id stick him on the Moose for next season. They know what they're doing down there with our forward prospects and would get his skating accustomed to the pro game.

So you think he’s two years in college? I doubt he plays much in the AHL. Two years should be enough to improve his skating.

Yeah I couldn't say really, I've only been able to watch highlights and a few shifts here and there up to this point but he's had a few secondary assists where he didn't factor into the goal at all and his skating looks really choppy. I might get the chance to watch a full game this weekend, unfortunately can't on Thursday. Just a sense that NHL next year would be ambitious especially in a meaningful role and burying him in the bottom 6 on this team wouldn't be ideal.

Him being NHL ready has more to do with him improving his skating than it does with being ppg+ in NCAA this year. I think that is more of an off-season project.
Has anyone seen enough of him playing to be able to say if it has improved this off-season?
Considering his assets, he could be NHL ready as soon as next year - IF the skating has improved enough.
Yeah if he can get his skating to an NHL level I'd love to see him mucking it up on the third or even fourth line next year. Feel like that style would play to his strengths

Players drafted out of hockey federations with no transfer-agreement with the NHL have their rights held in perpetuity until they sign an NHL contract.

That usually expires around 27-28 and Telegin had already signed an NHL contract though. I figure this has something to do with him being suspended when he went back to Russia but I don't really care enough to do the research to figure it out.
Where did we rank Telegin as a Jets' prospect back when the Thrashers moved to Winnipeg? It would be fun to look back and see how he was positioned relative to other prospects at the time.
