I know it's been a few months since the polls for top prospects on here, but who do you think has progressed more, Lucius or Lambert? I know Lucius got hurt.
My guess is most would put Lambert ahead of Lucius based on injury history, but I don't think many would be willing to go on a limb and declare one better than the other at this point.

Lucius may have higher hockey iq, lambert better speed and more durable, best to let them stay wit the moose. Chibrikov has Nhl written all over him and zhilkin looking like a solid 3rd liner as well

Skilled, fast, and effort level is through the roof. Nothing's ever a sure thing but he has the potential for sure.
He's 5' 9" and 160 lbs and is -8 the highest minus on the team. Love the effort but...

What about Wyatt Bongiovanni 6' 0" Weight 194 [183 cm/88 kg] 12 points (6&6) in 17 games left shot centre.

I know here's been talked about but he needs a shot at playing in the NHL when injuries start to occur. Or are we saving a ELC year by not letting him getting 9 games in?

We do save a year on his ELC if he doesn't play 10 NHL games. I don't think the team is in any rush to bring him up.

If we lock up playoff position before the end of the season maybe we will see a couple prospects like Lambert, Chibrikov or Lucius get in a game or two.

Otherwise we'd probably have to be in a desperate injury situation to see any of them called up.

5'10" and 175, but definitely plays a lot bigger. +/- doesn't mean much, especially on a team where the goalies can't stop a beach ball, but why not mention Bongiovanni's -4? Honestly not sure why Bongiovanni would be mentioned at all here, he's a long shot to make the NHL in any capacity.

Chibrikov = +\~ Kucherov (T.B.)

A person can dream

Nice thing about Chibrikov and Lambert is they are both so dynamic with the puck on their stick driving play with speed and skill. Add kids like Barlow and McGroarty with the natural finishing touch and it seems like a pretty good blend.

EDIT:

If a player who is signed to an ELC and is 18 or 19 years old does not play in a minimum of 10 NHL games their contract is considered to ‘slide’, or extend, by one year.

An exception to this rule is that if the player is 19 on September 15 of the first year of their contract, and turns 20 between September 16 and December 31, their contract does not slide.

Correction: I was correct in stating Lambert not being a slide candidate, but erred on the reasons why. It's very rare for teenagers to play in the AHL, hence my mispeaking. It appears the 9 game NHL rule does apply to the handful of teenagers (usually Europeans) playing in the AHL.

That 9 games rule is for sending players back to junior.

He's playing pro hockey. It counts as a contract year.

This is untrue. Danila Klimovich has played 2 seasons the the AHL prior to this year that did not count toward his ELC. His ELC stopped sliding this year as it's his 'age 20' season. The '9 games rule' is for teenagers.

That said, I can't remember the specifics of how and when the NHL considers "you're no longer a teen season" Lambert turns 20 before the end of the year but I think this is considered his age 19 season. Please correct me if I'm mistaken

Capfriendly lists him as a contract that will 'slide'

Lambert was born December 19th, 2003 & signed at 18. He 's presently 19 & turning 20 in a few days. He's not a slide candidate.
This is not the first year of his contract. 2022-23 was the first year. It's right in the piece you quoted - "If the player is 19 on September 15 of the first year of his contract". He was 18 on September 15, 2022. He is a slide candidate.

Cap friendly has him listed as a contract slide candidate. More and more over the years I’m in favour of not using up contract control early in careers. Why use up a year of contract control on a 19 year old raw rookie just to lose it at age 27 when the player is at the height of his prime. The age 27 year is far more valuable to a team than the 19 year old year.
