So where does he play next year? The safest place would be junior again, he really only had half a season with Seattle. Kfc played his d+2 year with the moose and he turned out ok. Or does he go to the big club like ehlers?
Only one more night of cougars (tonight).

Perhaps Seattle can play empty net to extend the series beyond 4 games.

Yeah I think he makes the NHL too - he's putting up numbers of someone who is NHL ready and nearly made the Jets this season
I'd prefer to see him translate his great play-driving from the WHL into the AHL before we move him to the NHL. Given his history, I think there's a risk that he becomes somewhat invisible in the NHL, and doesn't get back to form.

The problem is he also showed this year that he wasn't able to produce in the AHL.

I think he clearly needs to prove he can play in the AHL first even if it's only for half a year like Cole.

I’d rather see Lambert play top minutes on the Moose next year. If he continues hovering around a PPG in the AHL next year then I would graduate him to the NHL as a 21-year-old in 2024.
Agreed. I think he'll get a look for the Jets, and maybe even a few games if he looks good in exhibition, but playing a good portion of the year in the AHL until he shows he can score consistently and handle the rest of the game would be a good plan IMO.

What is going on with squad next year? If jets are starting a rebuild why rush? If he makes team better and we are competitive completely different place.

Something that is true of most players, but Lambert seems to take it to the extreme is that he's a player who needs to be put in the optimal position to succeed. His game suffered when he's not having success, which results in even less success and then even worse play. Conversely when he has success, his game improves and he has even more success.

Taking to big a jump all at once can only hurt him, even going to the AHL could be a struggle if he doesn't get off to a good start.

So what do you suggest?

I think Lambert is a really tough player to peg into any one spot at this time. I’m with those that believed he needed a stretch of games where he could be a star playing with and against peers. His next season is a bit of an unknown but I will put my trust in the Jets development guys about a best plan forward. But I love that he is going on this playoff run.

I was begging for the Jets to send him to Seattle, especially after the world juniors. but make no mistake, his results in Seattle are exceeding my expectations.

This is one of the better pieces of prospect development our org has pulled off in a while by having the courage to do the right thing.

For now I will continue to enjoy the ride.

It's wild to me that in the course of a few months he has transformed from a player that could barely get minutes as a 19 year old on a Finnish World Juniors team that didn't even make the medal round to a high-scoring, dominant 1C on a team that seems rocket-bound for the Memorial Cup. The comparisons to Barzal (even a poor man's Barzal) are tantalizing for a 30th OA pick.

As you say, it's a tidy bit of development by the Jets. Also makes me question the Finnish prospect regime, despite their successes in the last 10 years.

Square peg doesn't fit in round hole?

Chibrikov finally made it into a game with Khimik, who I believe are in the VHL finals right now.

EDIT: Khimik is up 3-0 in the series, Chibrikov recorded no points.
