Damn!! You guys are making hungry. Burgers look really good. I definitely will have to get a Fatboy out there, though I don't think I can do a 9 patty stack!

Btw, thank you all for your recommendations. I'm looking forward to my trip to Winnipeg. If you're at the game on Dec 8th, I'll be rocking my Rangers jersey in section 206. I will be on my best behavior as I always am when visiting other arenas. I doubt there will be many Rangers fans around, though us Ranger fans do travel. When I went to Alberta (CGY and EDM) 2 years ago, there were about 10 of us on the flight from NYC to CGY.

They haven't been clearing people this year in 117 (on most nights). All the ushers ask (and the STHs) is that you stay out of the aisle and don't act like a jackass.

I noticed at the Leafs game they left the people in 117 that had come down. It was not the case over by the tunnel. More people gather on that side.

It was the Leafs so the jackass part may have been why everyone but kids were cleared out.;)

I also have no issue if you sit down, don't leave empty beer cups in the holder, steal the program my usher kindly has in my cup holder each game and throw food wrappers under my seat.

Save room for a Hercules at the game. It's a waffle sandwich with chicken strips, cheese, bacon and maple mayo. So good, but the wife won't let me eat another one.

I highly recommend the movie "Hell or High Water". I had a chance to watch it on the plane today and it's really well put together. The Story line is very interesting, the acting is superb, and they really nail the feel of small town west Texas.

Chris Pine and Ben Foster are great as brothers and I think Jeff Bridges has one of the best performances I have seen by a supporting actor in a while.

I didn't enjoy that last year when I tried it. Are they still using the waffles you get from Costco (Julian's Belgian Waffles I think)? Too sweet...not my thing.

The perogies at the arena are pretty good though.

A Hercules sounds delicious. And I miss perogies so much.

When I went to a game I had left my credit card loaded with Canadian money in Brandon and only had my NZ card on me. Meant I didn't spend anything on food at the arena.

It's okay. Not something I would say is a must eat but different and unique. Very sticky on the fingers which is a minor annoyance.

Thank you for the great information. Food wise, I'm pretty open. I do like to check out foods which are particular to that area. Not sure what Winnipeg is famous for. For example if you came to NYC, I'd recommend you get some NY Pizza, or a NY Cheesecake. I'll look up those restaurants you've listed and see how far they are from my hotel and then decide which ones to check out.
yeah, i would have to say that Winnipeg's known for their burgers.
when i moved to Toronto in 2000, i couldn't order burgers. burgers were awful here. at one restaurant, i got a burger and it tasted pretty good, but i talked to the server about putting some chili sauce in the burger. she stared at me, blankly, as if what i was saying was voodoo magic.

My favourite Wpg burger is Superboys. get the Superboy and fries for lunch and you ain't eating dinner. but i wouldn't suggest you drive to Superboys because it, erm, isn't the prettiest of drives.

a more user friendly option is Daly Burger on Corydon. i discovered it after i moved from Wpg and, honestly, it's pretty damn great. and you can eat inside. and it's about 5+ min drive from the Forks. and you don't have to worry about your car being stolen

OMG, I never thought of doing that. That sounds awesome! I wonder if they would pour some Jet Dog chili over the Hercules if I asked?

(snip craziness)

They should just make that thing a damned roundabout and be done with it.

I'll be there with a video camera to record the hilarity the minute they do. :D In all honesty though: it would make more sense.

Yes, so much better. Change Confusion Corner to Collision Circle. Drivers here can't even deal with tiny roundabouts on quiet residential streets.

I'd also try Nuburger on Osborne. Pretty good! Though more of a 'restaurant style' burger than a 'greasy dive' burger. Depends on what you're looking for.

Glad for the name change, 'Unburger' was just....stupid. :P

i love how, in 2016, people in charge of Winnipeg's streets think that hundreds of thousands of Winnipeggers are driving around, shouting "should we go down Route 62 or Route 42? Which is faster???"

take down those stupid route signs. please.

Route 90 for life, breh!

I think we're going to need a separate OT: Unhealthy Food thread to go with our Beer thread.

What's your excuse?
Can we talk about the thread on the main boards: Would you score a goal in the NHL.

There are some absolutely hilarious responses in there, that I'm like 60% sure are not satire.
