I’m a little ashamed that I let them draw me back in with two decent games. Fool me once, uh…won’t be fooled again (or however GWB messed it up).

Something or someone is rotten on this team and I hope upper management knows what it is, because we have wasted half a decade doing nothing about it.

I’m sure I’m not alone in being on the verge of apathy towards this team.

So the Jets played two really great games when I had to work and couldn't watch.

Tonight I was glued to the entire game (okay, so I took a short phone call during the third) and we turned in a fairly weak and aimless effort. I feel like some sort of jinx now.

The good news is I've got a job for Saturday night so that should help our effort against Nashville!
Back to the hired killer racket?

This lineup misses Perfetti more than some will say, not saying all the Jets flaws would disappear with him back in the lineup but he gives more balance to the top six and his vison and playmaking are sorely missed

Didn't "someone" do some "advanced stat" analysis to tell us all that Perfetti was playing like a fourth line player?

Surely, his absence isn't noteworthy in that context... right?

You'll be back. You are just on a post-game loss low, where everyone wants to "blow everything up!" and curse out a bunch of players. Then, when we win, the post-game win high evaporates all of that negativity.

HOLD ON, HOWARD! We'll get you a win fix Saturday night!

Agreed. His all around play is also missed. He's one of the few players on this team that is usually money to get the puck cleanly out of his end and into the oppositons end.

I think Scheifele really misses those aspects. He's the one winger that has really meshed with him this year.

Garrett changed his toon on that as more data became available.

Perfetti was playing at a top 6 level prior to getting injured.

I set myself up nicely to watch this game.....and after 2 periods I just couldn't anymore.

55 needs to go....
26 needs to go
80 is leaving
81 is great but will need help big time
27 is getting better

There is almost nothing exciting about this team....

I'm just frustrated at how this team has been since all star break.

For the next time, I would suggest someone do a smell test before posting complete and utter nonsense derived purely from spreadsheets. It hurts the credibility of “advanced stats” when bizarre conclusions like that get posted.

I thought the Jets played a solid 1st period and I was truly encouraged. I also thought that they were going to come out in the 3rd and put the Flames out of their misery. Instead, they put me deeper in mine. They're still in control but I have big-time doubts that they can put it together.

55 & 81 mia, IMO.
80, like his feistiness most times but while he draws penalties, he takes too many too.
I know a lot want them both traded but I'd consider trading 55 and try keeping 80.
26 tries hard but his place in the lineup and toi has to be changed. If coaches can figure it out, they can get that last year of his contract out of him. I don't think he's tradeable.
27 makes mistakes but he is so dynamic, a player who is woefully underutilized. I like him with 7 but I'm not sure they'll bring 7 back (Will he want to come back?)
I could go on but will leave it there.
Such a frustrating team to watch but Go Jets Go!

I don't think the discussion around trading Dubois is because we want him moved due to his on-ice play, more that it seems inevitable he's not playing anywhere but Montreal starting in 2024.

Ehlers should never get 6 minutes less ice time than Scheifele.
They should have kept trotting out the 2nd and third lines and split the rest between 1 and 4.

At some point you have to realize certain players are hurting the team.

At least if 81 80 55 were generating chances you could keep them out there but they're spending practically their whole shift in their zone and when they do get the puck they just make a stupid pass on the offensive zone for a turnover.

It's embarrassing.

They should make line 2 line 1 and then put those three on separate lines

If the game wasn’t meaningful in the standings, I wouldn’t have wasted my time watching the whole game.

I used to watch 95% of Jets games. After December 2021, I watch 5% of Jets games. It’s boring and incredibly disappointing seeing a skilled team underperform.

Hoping for the playoffs but honestly more excited about the offseason demolition (though, with Chevy in charge, he’s probably just going to rotate the tires).

Agreed, a coach should have a good hand on who's playing well and who's not and adjust his deployment accordingly.

They had their chances but there was too much sloppy play for my liking. Morrissey had some long stretches of very loose play. Scheifele's lazy check on the Flames second goal, Wheeler had a tough night and Connor was just brutal outside of scoring areas. The penalty parade was brutal. I have a hard time getting invested in this team when they have guys consistently making plays I'd get mad at my beer league teammates for. :)

A relatively good, exciting game but I don't have a ton of faith in this team. I hope I am wrong but this core just doesn't have another deep run in it. I also hate how the refs let the Flames clutch and grab all the time.
Oh gawd, you're one of those guys who gets mad at teammates in beer league. Its beer league, not the pro's bud. Legit nothing worse that that one guy on the team who brings down the good times vibe with that crap. And best part is, its always a guy who kinda sux doing the s talking. 99% of actual good players on beer league team never say anything, cause they don't care...............cause its beer league. For fun.

Lol, no idea if you are that guy or not, but just triggered me.

Garrett has WAAAY too many blind followers. Advanced stats have their place if in context but the typical reply of “the results are the results” is just shoehorning a general result and pretending they are specific. If you can’t answer WHY the results are happening then you are not looking at even half the picture.

So I slept on whatever that was last night and here are my more calm morning after thoughts

Hockey is Voodoo. Most of our board was overconfident going into last nights game with a rested team coming off two great games. Calgary fans had thrown in the towel on the season after Markstrorm shit the bed YET AGAIN vs the Hawks and "dinosaur" Sutter still decided to play him B2B and was getting mocked by the Flames fans.

Play the game and of course Markstrorm has a great night and the Flames grab a critical two points in our building. Their season was on the line, ours wasn't (apparently), and just like that the NHL keeps NHL'ing

As I have stated for the past month I am not fan of how any of Calgary, Nashville, Or Winnipeg are playing this season. They are all flawed, none of them deserve to be in the post season, maybe the NHL should just go with 7 teams in the West playoffs :sarcasm:

I have given up on trying to figure this 2022-23 Jets journey

I am going to the game Saturday night (only my second game of the season at Canada life).

Yes......I still want the Jets to make the playoffs :dunce:

However, if we choke away the opportunity would it finally be THE wake up call for TNSE that this stopped working in 2018-19. The answer is no but a kid can dream.

Today I was trying to decide how I might define the current state of my relationship with my beloved Jets

perhaps its:

"codependency" a theory that attempts to explain imbalanced relationships where one person enables another person's self-destructive behavior

or

Stockholm syndrome is a coping mechanism to a captive or abusive situation. People develop positive feelings toward their captors or abusers

or

Five signs of a dysfunctional relationship (link attached) #3 Emotional disengagement applies best to me.

With that off my chest

GO JETS GO........Or don't go if you don't want to.......I'm not sure what this team is in the mood for these days?
