We didn't reclaim our throne tonight but we made some progress. Can't complain about that. We just have to keep the momentum going and ride out the storm. Go Jets go!

Well there's some more good news... read on NHL.com that Martin Erat left the game with a lower body injury... perhaps that can help slow down the Caps momentum?

Good game by the Jets... and if they continue to play like the second period for the next 8 games, we'll be watching some playoff hockey! Not to get ahead of myself but sometimes momentum shifts your way and good things happen... let's hope this is the beginning of a great run!

Damn Florida. Why couldn't you just beat the CAPs so they would need to use up a game at hand to tie us. Now they still have 2 games at hand.

Still not confident that we will make the playoffs with Washington having 2 games at hand. Carolina is already out of the picture as they are still crashing and burning.

The Caps have a tougher schedule than us, their last 5 games will be tough, they can't win them all. Can't wait for Thursday, it will be my first game since the last Caps game which was awful. I like the fact that Jimmy Wright is back, he adds alot to the bottom 6, it was good to see the guys on the ice turn it up against a hard forechecking team.

Based on what has happened this season the remaining games don't look too promising. We've struggled against Washington, Montreal and Florida. We will have 50/50 chance winning games against Buffalo, Tampa Bay and the NY Islanders. Our only win will probably be against Carolina.

Well, I hope I'm not one of the negative posters people noticed missing! went to the game and I've been out all day since and damn that was a good game! :D 2nd one I got to see live this season, and my 3rd game overall.

I know everyones' done reacting but I just got home and I'm still excited about that.. I mean, it was a really depressing first period but whatever Noel did over intermission seemed to do the trick because those 4 goals back to back were hands down the most exciting thing I've seen for myself at the MTS centre so far...

I have to wonder how much the crowd played into it too 'cause I know the "ILLLLLLYYAAAAAAAAA" chants were ringing through the arena from pretty much the first goal (speaking of which, is Clitmore here to stay) to the end of the second and we scored nearly all of our goals during it. I dunno how strong Bryz's mental game is but I'm curious if that had an effect. Either way the place was roaring and it was awesome to see the crowd so into it (especially for an afternoon game!) when we started sinking goals left right and centre. :yo:

anyways that was just an exciting game! The only downside was Buff looking bored and disinterested, but even he seemed to get more into things at the end of the 2nd and 3rd.

and yknow - we've got a lot of games played and so few points left in the season, but if we can stop being so damn inconsistent and hold on to that 2nd period magic I think we might make it. I know half the league is rooting for us to snag that banner, haha, and if we can keep going strong and the Capitals can do us a favour and collapse, we might be good :handclap:

Was too busy assembling Ikea furniture to pay close attention to the game...but nice net crashing guys!

I'm still very, very doubtful about playoffs. But the barn looked like it was rocking and I'm so glad the Jets gave them something to cheer about. Home crowd has been pretty glum for the last two weeks.

Interestingly Enstrom and Buff were behind Clitty, Bogo and Hains in ice-time. Hmmm....

Little loves being that playmaker which often causes him to look for the pass first, hopefully today's goal convinces him to take the shot a little more because his wrister is quality when he chooses to use it.

He faked the pass nicely on that goal too. His body was a little open to the center of the ice rather than right at the goal and he was looking at Wheeler the whole way until he snapped it past Bryz.

Nice win by the boys today. We sit it in 9th - which is the absolute worst spot to be in. Hopefully we find a way to move up (or at the very least, down). GO JETS GO!

We need to get on a roll in the worst way. I guess I'm one of the few who thinks we have a better shot at 8th, then we do at 3rd. The Caps are rolling right now - especially OV. And if OV is playing like the monster that he can be (and Green produces), the Caps are more then a handful for any team out east not named the Penguins. We would need their goaltending to let them down (which is not inconceivable), to catch them, in my opinion.

Loved the win today. I thought Tango and Santorelli looked good alongside Burmistrov.

I was at the game and it was great to win, but the Jets didn't play particularly well in the first and most of the second. Up until the first Jets goal, it was looking pretty bleak. Thankfully we were up against a phenomenal sieve. In the third the game plan was simply 'prevent'.

There were several disconcerting giveaways and blown defensive assignments and luckily the Flyers were not particularly good at converting tonight.

Ladd's missed breakaway shot was brutal. On a team starved for offense, you just can't do that.

So happy!

That was by far and away the best game Mittens has played in a long, long time :sarcasm:

Just to show you how wacky things are, if Washington loses to Tampa and then loses again to Montreal on Tuesday, the Jets will jump from 9th place to 3rd without having completed a game.

Guess I'm crazy because I agree with Ladd - I thought the Jets looked decent in the first period. They were badly outshot, but they had some good scoring opportunities..only problem was they kept missing the net!

Nice to see Kane rewarded for all his hard work with a goal and an assist. Nice work on the second goal behind the net Kaner!

Burmi had a scoring chance or two and didn't turn over the puck..or at least not as much. Saw him play with Kane too. Hope we see more of that the rest of the season.

Buff..sigh..not sure if he has checked out..if he is tired or if it's something else. That icing call on him was just lazy - he needs to play smarter than that. Clitsome bailed him out a few times in that game as well. This was pointed out a few times by CBC as well.

Pavs was excellent and it's great to see Wright back in action!

People need to keep in mind the Jets could go 6-2 down the stretch, lose the division, but still have a realistic shot at the 8th seed in the division.

Oh don't worry they're around, busy complaining about other things in other threads. If it's not the results of the game, it's something else. It's cool to be a curmudgeon. :sarcasm:

I'm glad to hear that there are no legitimate areas of concern about the talent level, coaching or front office management of this team....WHEW! :shakehead

OTOH, we're undefeated since the city became "the Winnipeg"!

Not flying so high now, are you, Flyers?

Never said that. Sure, there are legitimate areas of concern other than the the results of one game or another. There's a big difference between expressing those concerns now and then, and being seemingly sour on everything all the time. The former can be constructive. The latter is mostly just annoying to the rest of the fan community if it becomes a persistent posting pattern.
