Oof, Wings are in tough. They had no idea how to stop the Jets forwards once they got into the Wings zone. Especially Ehlers.

The Wings will be a lot tougher next game --especially if they had Jimmy Howard in net --and on their home ice --they could be very competitive with the Jets. I do think the Jets should win that one though.

Good win against a bad team , there was 4 Detroit players standing around picking their noses as Copp and Lowry hacked away at Comrie on the 1st goal . 4th line looked better and Pionk is good , would like him to try and feed Laine a bit more on the PP but i'm not complaining , yet . :naughty: TSN is starting to piss me off , Jets were dead last on their highlight package and only showed 2 Jets goals and it lasted about 20 seconds . Showed all the other Canadian teams before us and it's not the first time this year they've done this . :help:

I missed the game completely, but extended highlights were very fun to watch.

I expected Jets to be 6-in-5 (a.k.a. playoffs team) despite losing D corps in summer as they have so much talent to actually suck, but now they are 3 points ahead the schedule, which is huge. Hats of.

Roslovic is a hard guy to size up ? Sometimes he looks dominant out there, and sometimes invisible. I'd like to see him develop more focus and consistency. Maybe that will come as he matures, and gains more confidence -- hope so.

Tonight--I don't think Roslo had much of an impact out there, and I guess that's why Maurice pushed him back to the 3rd line. Nice to have a guy like Perrault who can fit in on any line and play well -- very versatile guy.

I'm not sure Lowry and Copp are the third line and if I was an offensive player of be thrilled to play with them as I'd likely be spending a good amount of time in the O zone.

I think Roslo adds more pure offense there than MP and MP adds some extra tenacity to Wheels and Ehlers.

Man I was not very happy when the Trouba trade happened...but Chevy seems to have pulled off a great move.

As said I had Jets much higher after Trouba & other D trade than most, but I didn't know Buff will be absent and I thought that Pionk will be just barely AHL level (and that Niku will have his breakthrough season). Now when Pionk has been so much better than expected and most of the replacement D has been serviceable, Jets are pretty much there where I expected, even higher.

If they continue like that and Helle continues to be a brick wall, Jets will be a real contender in playoffs.

roslovic is a bottom 6 player no matter how much people wish it isn't true. and there is nothing wrong with that. little will get that spot when healthy.

Keep banking the wins! We're already in a pretty nice spot...really .500 hockey for the rest of the season still likely gets us a PO spot...not that I'm recommending that strategy of course.

Roslovic soo baad, trade him (Stats 5-on-5. This Roslo-guy is pretty awesome in winning):

If someone is carrying Roslovic, certainly not his linemate Wheeler, who has been so far statistically worst TOP-6 player for the Jets this season. Barely winning though.

Guys under 200 TOI omitted. Little was playing very well too.

When you spend 3 years calling him a bust, then a disappointment, then a career fourth liner, it's hard to admit when he's playing like a top 6 forward.

Not much talk about the Jets first goal. I thought it should not have counted and I would have been mad had that kind of goal been scored against us.

Watched wings broadcast, they discussed it a lot. The commentator (ex. Goalie I think) basically thought it was a good goal, but ”sometimes you wish for an early whistle in such situations”. Puck was in play and Lowry is allowed to play it. Had he pushed Comrie’s blocker in with puck, probably would not have counted.

6th place in the entire league and best record of all the Canadian teams , 2 points behind St.Louis with a game in hand . BOO YAA !!

Jets now have a positive goal differential and better than the Blues (+9 vs. +6), a lower PDO than the Blues (1.011 vs. 1.015), and a higher AS xGF% than the Blues (46.56% vs 46.11%).

Yet somehow, according to the hockey media, the Blues are contenders and the Jets are riding an unsustainably hot goaltender.

So as of right now the only defenseman we have playing from last season is Morrissey , unbelievable how well we are doing . :amazed: Hats off to Maurice and his assistant coaches especially Huddy .

I think this speaks to two things:

1) How much the likes of Pionk, Poolman, and Sbisa have not been the stark downgrades on Trouba, Myers, and Chiarot (respectively) that many feared,

and,

2) How much something stunk about last season. To go from one of the best teams in the league, if not the best, to a team chasing the puck almost every night was much more than the difference of Stastny, Armia, and Enstrom. Something was amiss, and here's hoping it's been exorcised.

Poolman was horrible last night. He was easy pickings for the forecheckers. I think he drags Morrissey down.

Not the best of efforts but the Wings are so bad that we beat them handily anyways.
Wow they're bad. I think they worked extremely hard last night, but without two of their better players I don't think they're any closer than a 5 -1 loser against the Jets.

Agree and i think the exorcism went all the way to NewYork :naughty: at least some anyway .:thumbu:
