We were pretty solid after the first 10 minutes. I thought the Forwards were pretty blah and not skating. PoMo change the lines up and we just started to skate circles around them for the rest of the game. Really could have been more if we connect a couple of passes here and there.

Of course that bum Helly comes in and ruins the shutout

Growing up in Winnipeg in the 1980's, we used to get the Detroit NBS, CBS and ABC TV stations.

I remember the Red Wings were awful and were referred to as the Dead Things.

Looks like the Dead Things are back.

Who would have thought that without Buff, Trouba and Tanev the Jets would be 2 points out of first? Even if they go into the tank I for one am very impress with them thus far.
They are not going to go into the tank. The team is playing well across the board and they are gradually improving every underlying number game by game.

Post-game audio:

Players: Andrew Copp, Laurent Brossoit and Neal Pionk

Coach Maurice scrum topics: Whether the shorthanded goal for the Jets swung the momentum in their favour. The switch of Roslovic and Perreault. Patrik Laine's goal. What worked so well in the zone on the Copp goal? Was there anything he had to do to temper any arrogance from infecting their game? Quiet game for Laurent Brossoit? On the Jets continuing to backcheck hard when the game is 5-1 for the home side. On Hellebuyck having to go into the game. What is the biggest area of growth he has seen in Andrew Copp's game? Did he think the challenged goal was going to count?

Jets outperformed them in every aspect of the game. Outmuscled their D, outmuscled their O. Comrie was looking like an all star till the end of that second period though. Detroit looking like a sad team! Keep it up in Detroit on Tuesday, boys!

Jets 2.0 in others years had lost significant players to injuries on defense.

Lost of both top 2
Lost of all top 4
Lost of 5 of top 6

Those years Jets were not as good.

Difference now than then

We have a very good forward group and an elite goalie.
As long as the 6 D playa as a unit team will be alright.
