Very exciting to see how well he is doing to start the season. Style comparisons to NHL players are always problematic because some think you are saying he will be as good as said player. But from a style perspective, from what little I've seen of him, he reminds me of Pettersson. Like a little water bug out there.

Now that you say that I can see what you are saying. Good eye.

Overall I am cautiously optimistic and that is only because I do not have a good grasp on the KHL and how to take style, metrics, & numbers from there and supplant them in N. America. I would be interested to hear from someone more knowledgable than I on how to translate to the AHL and/or NHL

We be kinda short on RW. Politely decline your suggestion.

He plays RW but he's a leftie. Ain't no way in Hell (Norway or the other one) that Maurice brooks that sort of off-wing nonsense with a young player. I'm sure he's already thinking about what needs to be done to set this misguided young man on the straight and narrow. With Connor, Ehlers and Perfetti ahead of him, he's looking at competing for that coveted 5 minutes a night 4th line energy guy role. Honestly, as long as the Jets hold his rights, he's probably better off aiming for being a very well paid KHL star.

Maurice is playing KVes on his off wing. Ehlers, too. Played Tanev on his off wing as a rookie.

So...

All true ...... but Mau has demonstrated a preference for breaking players in on the conventional NA side. But not so rigidly as some would have us believe.

Rash is an older player and will be pretty experienced by the time he arrives. I think he will be given a chance at a position of need.

His second goal of the night was candidly incredible. Separates himself in the slot while seemingly dangling a puck on a string, breaks the defenders ankles and goes roof-daddy.

Un-REAL.

This gives me hope that the Jets Competitive window will be extended with this guy and Cole Perfetti in the pipeline.

Edit: I also forgot Chaz (quality hawkey name)

Perfetti, Lucius, Rashevsky, Torgersson, Chibrikov... the Jets have some forward talent in the pipeline, to go along with some nice depth and skill on D in the pipeline. It really is an impressive pipeline, despite not having a high volume of picks, or high-end picks in the past few drafts.

If Dubois solidifies himself as a top-end C, I can imagine two overlapping contention windows at F --- the Scheifele/Dubois/Perfetti window, and then the Dubois/Perfetti/Scheifele window.

Scheifele / Dubois / Dubois era (2021/22 through 2024/5)

Connor-Scheifele-Ehlers
Perfetti-Dubois-Wheeler
Copp-Lowry-Vesalainen
Harkins-Gus-Svech (etc)

Dubois / Perfetti / Scheifele era (2025/26 through 2028/29): Dubois 27-30, Perfetti 23-26, Scheifele 32-35

Connor-Dubois-Lucius
Ehlers-Perfetti-Chibrikov
Vesalainen-Scheifele-Rashevsky
Harkins-Gus-Torgersson

sorry, I’ve clearly been watching too many games featuring Kevin Sawyer

Don't be sorry. I'm gonna devote my next few weeks of training to honing my (slow) quick release, so I can spend my beer league season going roof-daddy all night long.

This kid's highlights must giving those other team scouts the ol' shoulda coulda rash-evsky

I know he didn't start the game on the top line, but did Rashevsky finish there? Played more than the normal RW (still only 13:55) and combined with Shipachyev twice (though on one Ship had already left the ice by the time Rashevksy scored).

Also, 2 shots 2 goals. Up to 44.4%

On the Russian Front!

1) When is his KhL contract up/ expire

2) when is Chibrikov contractual obligations up?

3) Is Burmistov still playing ? And is he still sporting a # 69 jersey?

4) Is Zhamonov still aGeneral manager of a KHL team?

5) Was Barbara Bach not the hottest free Agent actress to play a Russian Spy in any Bond Movie?

6) Are there any HFBoard people on this site still mad at the Jets for not giving Arturs Kulda (D) a fair try at making the roster?

1) It expires after this season. Rashevsky has expressed a desire to play for the Jets next season.

I think you have a gem here, Winnipeg.
