I wouldn't bench Scheif, but I certainly would bring up Perfetti. We need goal scorers right now, especially with Ehlers out of the lineup. It can't hurt to give him a look. He's scoring well for the Moose, and picking the top and bottom corners of the net, is the same in both leagues.

The time and space you get to be able to do that is far less in the NHL to the AHL. It's still a huge jump. The AHL is full of great scorers who couldn't replicate it at the NHL level. I don't mind giving him the season in the AHL. Have to think long term with him.

Lots of lurkers from other teams in the user listing.

The guy from the IC YouTube Channel was calling a slide after the 3rd loss and predicted the Jets could garner 6 L's in a row.

At first, I called bs, because i felt it was a slippery slope argument.

I stand corrected. Were one L away.

I've heard from lots of ppl that buff and Wheeler never got along real well and the more I hear Blake speak the more I see why. Buff was so chill and fun loving. Wheels is pissy and seems to really dislike constructive criticism.

No surprise this team hasn't been the same since buff retired. The fun loving big guy is gone. Jets look like they aren't having fun out there.

Buff was the locker room joker and kept things light and loose.

Yes it's a slump even if the Oilers are the better team the just are still slumping 5 straight losses is a slump.

Are the Senators in a slump? Our record against them is 6-2, we simply are the better team. I wouldn't be worried about them in the playoffs (if they made it), similar to how the Oilers wouldn't be worried about us.

And before you say that's a bad comparison, the Jets have won 11 of 24 at home, the Senators have won 11 of 25. Our home record shows we're a bottom feeder.

Are the sens playing hockey games in the central time zone at 8pm? Just saying. Not much of a home ice advantage is it when we are playing our home games at 8pm.

I am frustrated by some things. Putting Copp and Appleton on the top line shouldn't mean that them and Scheifele should all get 20+ minutes, it means that since the talent is more distributed, the TOI should be too. Maurice is solving nothing by putting lesser talent on the top line just to remove ice time from greater talent. That's not the goal. The goal is to have effective players out for more of the game. It doesn't just defeat the purpose when he keeps the same TOI distribution, it actively works against the goal of spreading out talent.

Maurice is so role driven and hierarchical that it doesn't matter if 3 fourth line players were on the first line, he'd still play it that many minutes. He can't seem to think in any other terms other then 1st line must play x, second line must play y etc...

Counting on a 19 year old to save your offense isn't a plan that it likely to work. It took him a good 15 AHL games to really get up to speed and start to dominate. We don't have the runway left to allow him the same type.of development arc here.

I don't agree, but I understand your point, but I'd call him up for 2-3 games. We got Ehlers and Connor started at a very young age, when people said they weren't ready -- so I'd call him up.

There's no way to know "for sure" what is the best thing to do, but we really need some scoring right now. I don't think he's going to save the offence, but he could maybe contribute to it significantly.

We have to many players playing in the top six that don't belong there, this will not be a quick fix, the D on the other hand have youngsters supposedly ready to make the jump yet they will not get used this year

I thought Copp and Appleton had very good games in fact Scheiffle may have been dragging them down. I would like to see PLD with them but get your point about even distribution of ice time.

He definitely should get a game as a reward for good play and for his development.

I’d be fine with giving Perfetti one game just to get a look at him and give him the feel for the NHL game. Also to reward him for his solid AHL play.

But I think it’s crazy talk to bring him up full time. Let him shred the AHL for the rest of the year.

I thought the team put in a pretty good effort tonight. One of their hardest working games of the year.
The only player I saw drifting around a bit, again, was Scheifele.
At least it looked like they cared tonight.

You can add Kyle Connor in there along with Scheifele as well Turtle. I think Connor has been somewhat invisible, and not hanging around in close to the net, like he used too before.
