I'll be the "it wasn't as bad as the score made it look" guy. They didn't play great by any stretch, but there were elements that can be taken as positives. Staal had a good game, as did Del Zotto (who looks more confident on the rush than he has in two years).

Yeah, it sucks that they gave up 3 third period goals, but those goals were--a series of weird deflections that went right to an Ottawa player, a mistake by a rookie goalie for a soft soft soft goal, and an empty netter. Again, it's not like they played great, but they just had NO puck luck in that third period (and I think they were getting frustrated by the lack of calls on obvious penalties--there were at least three textbook calls that were just ignored).

Put it in the past, keep the positives and move on to the next game.

That's a nice loss tonight. Alain needs to realize he has to play his best ****ing line up. I don't care if players are under performing. What kind of team do you think we have here that we can afford a couple of our better players sitting? We need our best players on the ice. I don't mind playing Talbot but I don't understand what the message is to Henrik playing Talbot back to back.

People act like we're a good team though, that this is a game we are supposed to win.

The bottom line is, we are no better than the Jets.

They're 13-12-4 and we're 14-14.

There are no easy games for us, because frankly, we're not better than the vast majority of teams in the league. We are the definition of mediocre.

I guess youre right. I like to think we are little better than a team with their top scorer out, and we have the better goaltending and defense.

I picked up Kreider in fantasy so I decided to watch the game. The whole game I thought to myself, 'wow, Zuccarello is getting a lot of ice time... I'd like to see Kreider play a bit more alongside Nash"... only to notice that Kreider had tons of TOI and Hagelin and Zuccarello had 16 mins or less... (Hags with 14). I really like Zuccarello's game and I love Hagelin's grit. I think those two need more TOI. Just my interpretation after watching one game.

And although Kreider didn't get any points I was satisfied with his game, he's a good player. Nash was a tad bit invisible. Also that should have been a penalty on the Stepan breakaway takedown.

And MDZ is washed up...

You're pretty much right.

Nash seems to be invisible a lot of times unless he wants to go one on one with a defender...

Nash was probably our best forward. He wasn't consistent but he was getting chances in spurts, probably had like 6 shots.

They didn't even ****ing show up. Vancouver is far better and we took it to them. They didn't feel like even showing up today. The Rangers being mediocre doesn't excuse them to not give any effort. Garbage garbage selfish bunch of pieces of ****.

As much as I did not like Tortorella, and I thought it was time to move on, I can say the team gave in a more consistent effort under his watch.

This team is night and day every game. You never know what you're getting. And the coach has to be held responsible for that.

I'm starting to think that this team won't break one way or another. No super hot streak or cold streak. Just perpetual mediocrity.

How Rangers of them.

I can understand not buying out Richards this year if you have no better options... He's finished. He cant do anything out there.

I get what you're saying but it's hard to keep the positives and move on when we've done this literally several times already.

I agree, he isnt sending any message to Hank. Play the damn guy 5 games in a row, win or lose. He is 31 years old for gods sake, not 40. The team has to score. Stop this goalie ********. Torts used to ride Hank all season

Cam talbot got his first dose of the listless turnover machine team tonight that plays in front of lundqvist on a nightly basis

The Rangers are a mediocre team. The fact that they lost to the Jets isn't that surprising. They aren't that much, if any, better than them.

Side note, nice to see Trouba tonight.

Were you complaining when we were winning with Talbot? This is ridiculous it's not like we were playing the Blackhawks or something.

LOL. It went off of Thornburn's skate.

Exactly, but Thorburn didn't direct it with his skate. He didn't even try to play it; he didn't even know it was coming in his direction. It hit him and bounced into the slot. Just a stupid deflected puck.

That kind of bullcrap luck does not happen on the road anywhere as much as it happens at the Garden.

Hey, I'm not giving them any kind of pass for a disgustingly awful second period. However, this is the type game that should have gotten to OT at 2-2. Lose then, fine. Bad game. But to lose because of a stupid deflection gets old, and it happens regularly at MSG.

Callahan is way too OK after losses like this. I want to see fire in his eyes. Complacent. **** this.
