i don't think the best players are always necessarily the best leaders. and truthfully, we aren't privy to all the details of what they do or say.Ehlers for A would be nice imo. On top of being one of our most consistently effective players, just seems like a positive upbeat dude.
This was my thought as well.Wonder if Wheeler is getting traded?
Following Pomo footsteps? Lost the room.Wonder if Blake played a part in this decision
I'm not so sure about the "Wheeler stripped of C" narrative. I mean I don't have a problem with that...a change is needed for sure. I just think it's entirely possible that Wheeler himself may have requested the move...or at least that it's a mutually agreed upon thing.
While many thought this was needed, it is quite another thing to see the org actually remove the C from such a long standing player. It shows me they are serious about correcting the room which is good.
I see Morrissey, Lowry as foresure in the mix. Other then that I'm not sure.

however,
just what ive heard from ehlers over the years, i hear a guy that's taken accountability for his play (even though he's one of our premier fwds) more than any of our supposed leaders. doesn't complain, plays his role whatever the coach dictates. he's in his prime years, signed for the next 3, & overall think he's handled stuff like media responsibilities quite well. i wouldn't mind him as an A.
I'm sure they have been trying for months.Wonder if Wheeler is getting traded?

Seems like a logical move if your placing someone on the Trade Block.
Wonder if they go with 6 A's, 3 at home and 3 on the road,
Morrissey
Scheif
Lowry
Connor
Dubois (some sort of incentive to stick around)
Wheeler/Demelo/Ehlers
Thanks for the like!!!Stoked about this news. Everyone gets a like, even if you have a shitty take

Maybe Bones is just a big fan of Ophra - You get an A and you get an AJeez I hope not. Might as well just give everyone an "A."
I think they were trying to trade Wheeler and he was ok with it. I don't think they found something they liked. Plan B is to downgrade his leadership role and give it to the "new" generation. As the cap clears up and depending on how our season goes they might re visit trading him at the deadline if not I bet he goes next summer

I think he really will follow Pomo... that's probably the delay - fully expect Tkachuk-Barkov-Wheeler as their top lineFollowing Pomo footsteps? Lost the room.
So now Wheeler will pout all season
Or will there actually be some accountability this year?

Wheeler (retained) for Hornqvist and 2nd round
