I also think stanley is just less aware of what his feet, hands and stick are doing because he's so high off the ground, as hilarious as it sounds.

Someone like perfetti needs to raise their stick to shoulder level to high stick the avg player, meanwhile stan lifts his stick to his waist and it ends up in marchessaults mouth. Not excusing him at all, it just seems like his height works against him rather than for him, more often than not.

I clearly stated without Helle they do not win. Did you listen to Nino 's postgame? He sounded like a guy who thought they were also luck to win because of the slow start and penalties.
I also stated that NSV did not have Stamkos on the PP. If they did I feel the outcome would have been different.
16 penalty minutes for Nashville including a 5-3 to 4 minutes for the Jets is a massive thing to overcome even without their 34 year old 12 goals scoring superstar. And us playing most of the game without Morrissey is a way bigger loss than Stamkos for them.

That call on KFC was laughable, NHL has a referee problem in terms of consistency
I think we've all seen some terrible officiating over the years, and usually when that happens both teams have horrendous calls or non-calls...but it's usually in the ballpark of being even (thanks to game management). Last night was crazy.

If those refs didn't have money on the Preds, then they're just the most incompetent officiating crew in the NHL - and that's saying something.

With just a B.A. and M.A. in my purse, what else would it be than Humanities. ENGL 348, specificaly.
Sounds like a sentiment my 20C Lit prof would've held. Hemmingway doesn't truck with statistics! Although I think I did write something about his words/sentence rate.

I see what you did there.

EDIT: What was that life-changing thing you alluded to a few days ago back in BC?
I probably said life-changing because I was on an emotional high from the excitement of being in such an incredible city and all the great family events.

I'll give you the TL;DR version. I got cornered at a swank faculty event at a downtown hotel which resulted in a really strange interview that I totally misconstrued. Bottom line: I'm told I'd be perfect for a non-teaching academic position if funding for the office becomes available for July. I've been asked to submit my resume in confidence. And the line which sealed it for me: "Let's not mention any of this to your mother until things progress a lot further."

So, not life-changing but significant. Not on a level of overhearing your future mate foxing in a doorway, but close to that in potential impact.

It's been a day; time to go home and fall face down on the couch. Hope I don't miss!

Looks like to me Marchessault was holding Stanley's stick or trying to break it or maybe Marchessault was hungry.

It's not only hockey ... all sports are getting bad. The NFL is the worst and its starting to look like Vegas does have something to do with it. I can see missing a call it happens but when all the calls are going against one team it makes you wonder.

The NFL is the worst game managed sport in the world, you can call holding on every play yet they pick and choose usually on a big play to throw a flag. Receivers push off, db's hold all under the guise of hand fighting and nothing really gets called

It's funny that someone with a B.A. and M.A., that constantly brags about it, would make a bunch of continuity mistakes like you have. Very sloppy actually.

For instance, you claim to be a middle child (Dec 17, 2023), yet in an earlier post a couple of years back (Oct 13, 2022), you talk about it being your two older sisters.

Or that you had lost most of your hearing from meningitis at age 12 (Apr 14, 2023), yet in an earlier post, you claimed that it was when you were 5 (Dec 13, 2022).

Or your character making a point of being born in 1998, dozens of times, yet you slipped up recently, when you claimed that you were turning 29 next month (which is sometime this month), and you said so on Nov 23, 2024.

And just recently, talking about your folks, Mom and Dad, and their photos together from the early 1970s. Yet, you're born in 1998 (supposedly), and your younger sister is 4 years younger than you are?

If you were adopted, you would have divulged that information already, since you're so open about everything (supposedly).

Above all of this, there's a question of what's your motivation, and it doesn't jive. I've come across this type of poster on other forums, and it's never good. Smart play by you though, since it's densely populated by men.

Actually, Stanley's hockey sense is pretty good. If you watch his game instead of just waiting to jump on mistakes, you'll see he makes alot of very good decisions with the puck. His exit passes are probably the best of our bottom pair crew of 5. Consistently better than Heinola, and that's supposed to be his strength.

He's also shown a strong ability to get the puck through on his shots, and some offensive acumen rushing and passing in the offensive zone.

Yes, he makes mistakes, like all our players. His biggest weakness is his agility through his pivots, and that gets him into trouble on rush plays sometimes. He doesn't have great top end speed but I don't see that being a problem. His biggest area of opportunity is adjusting his timing to account for these deficiencies.

People just don't have the patience to look at Stans game as a whole, and actually try to judge it objectively. Not does anyone want to acknowledge that he might actually be getting better because it goes against their belief that he's just bad.

It's fascinating.
He is terrrible. Minor league at best.

I want to preface my response by saying I truly enjoy chatting with you about the games. I know we both want the best for the Jets and you definitely see it as glass as half full, which is awesome. I agree that it was an insane amount of penalty minutes but mostly self inflicted wounds and losing Morrisey is likely harder on the Jets to overcome, which is why I say they got lucky and great goaltending to win . I also believe if Stamkos, despite his struggles, is out for the 5 on 3 NSV scores but we will never know.

Of course, without that ref crew, the Jets don't need Hellebuyck to win...
I disagree. They were self inflected wounds. Puck over the glass by Pionk and stick to the face after being burned by Stanley were senseless and not the refs fault. The Connor penalty was questionable considering the circumstances but NSV also used their forecheck to cause the Jets some issues.

If it's not presumptuous, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

Yeah I know what you mean. You call them continuity mistakes. I call them lies.

I called her on them a few times, especially when she was new and would reverse facts even after a coupla weeks. She said she distorted things to keep safe. Also the mods booted some guys out after some of them recognized her.

If she wants to lie to me, I don't really care since I'm entertained. Nobody's asked me for money or to set up privleges or to send gift cards, so I don't care if she's another Santos. I've seen her in real life and she looks about late 20s. She's played me a bunch of times and most of the facts don't bother to me so like I said I don't care.
