I don’t know much about him other than he was apparently overdrafted… I see he’s a bigger guy but does he play physical at all if he isn’t going to bring much scoring? After getting double hip surgery I have to assume that takes a little speed off a guy.

He is basically Drew O'Connor game wise, but has put up 10+ goals multiple times.

His last season was very disappointing, but in the prior seasons he scored 14 goals in 65 games and 15 goals in 55 games. I think that's pretty good for 15 minutes per game and not very much PP time.

I had huge expectations so it still wasn't quite there and I guess one needs to earn his time in top 6.
However, he scored goals quite nicely after his first hip operation in the season 2020-2021 when he scored ES goals at an even higher rate than Draisaitl while playing a big part of the season in bottom 6.

Of course someone always reads these in a wrong way so I emphasise the two players can't be compared in any possible way, that'd be just stupid, but it just shows that if he can play at that level also after this operation he could probably be a pretty productive NHL player.

The difference is last time he got to put himself in condition by playing in the FEL first so I don't know how fast he catches up now or if there even is a chance to do it in the NHL this year.

Remember him?
Seems like he isn't game ready. Kind of surprising as what the heck was he expecting!

It may be good for him (his career) to follow the Penguins rehab/training process and practice, even without a contract. Assuming he's willing.

Alternative is to sign him cheap, and put him on LTIR.

He's extremely good defensively. That never gets mentioned. Something like Eller level in that regard.
So he should be able to at least contribute that way.

Considering the PK went like 50% in the absence of Acciari and Nieto, I kinda welcome it.

I have zero expectations with his scoring in a bottom-six, heavy defensive role.

So what you’re saying is, Mike Sullivan is going to glue him into the top 6?

He’s been dodging the HR guy all week.
