Noticed you guys stop bringing up his FO percentage now that he is close to 48% and far above suzuki. I guess its hard to ride a false narrative and a lesser important stat. Gretz would have Messier take the draw late in the game if it was critical.
He's the 3rd most used C on the team the last three seasons. I think, perhaps, the reason for that is that he was always the 3rd best center on the team during that span. Just a wild guess.

He also averages 14 minutes per game during that span. I'm sure you can explain this in the context of "how many times did he have a 10 minute games". Well, how many?

_______________________

Notice anything how his average is a few high ice games and at least 8 under 12 minutes (4th liner minutes) games for out 3rd line center. Plus missing both his start and end post season benchings, along with romanov. Non consistent icetime, non consistent linemates. All over the lineup. I just can't understand how come this kid isn't a superstar yet because we drafted him 3rd in a weak draft. Mayne some of you have too high of expectations for a kid that has been extremely poorly developed.

Third liner Lars Eller. Notice only 3 games with less than 14 minutes. First game was the game he went out injured and the second was his first game back from injury. This should all be moved to the KK thread though.

He also averages 14 minutes per game during that span. I'm sure you can explain this in the context of "how many times did he have a 10 minute games". Well, how many?

In case anyone wants to know, this season he had a three 10 minute games: Feb. 6 (10:34), one in June 16 (10:55), and a 9 minute game May 10th (9:13). He also had five 11 minute games sprinkled throughout the year.

Obviously but i don't think you can say right now with 100% certainty that nobody behind JK will be better. Lot of guys are in their first season not their 3rd. When it comes to 2012 there really was not much AG is still 2nd in points ... there was better options but nothing in the 1st round that would have changed the face of the team outside of maybe Rielly. I'll be surprised if 2018 is as weak as 2012 it look more promising to me.
There are 4 players in the top-10 alone that would have been a better choice than Galchenyuk.

And yet has been top 3 in scoring for his teams from 2015-2019 including the yotes( 6 points and 10 games less than their #1 OA) . In 2014 he was 7th 1 point behind gally and 4 points from markov at 4th while 20 years old. Seems like point wise he isn't as garbage as some make him out to be. He also had a good season with the leafs who were happy with his pickup. 12 points in his 26 games while just coming off the marlies. Danault had 24 points the entire season. Same PPG, with some considering danault our #1C and near bergeron awesomeness.

He's a complete garbage.

Meanwhile, a guy like Hampus Lindholm or Morgan Rielly could have been a cornerstone for a decade.

I've been around here much longer, and no, you're just flat out wrong.
Sure, you have the odd take or two, you have fans overvaluing prospects (like every other fanbase, for every single sport btw), but the general consensus on this board was not that Tinordi was going to be the next Pronger or Galch a 90pt center, just like now, nobody labels you a hater if you think KK=/=Kopitar.

You exaggerate. Always.
I've told Garbageyuk a mllion times not to exaggerate but he hasn't listened to me in a hundred years.

You know what? This post was only a dozen posts above yours.

And this next one was only a dozen posts after yours but I don't expect you to predict what will be said in the future. So you get a pass on that one. I'm just posting it to show you how prevalent it is on this board to call a KK dissenter a hater.

So who is making up crap now?
Making crap up now...........that's the garbage truck guy....

IS the guy that played him during the playins when CJ finally wasn't there. Thats when the entire board felt "hey this kid doesn't look nearly as bad on the second line!" Then Phil "I never had offensive opportunities in my 20 minutes a game" Danault went crying to the media about his usage and no gally/tatar. This continues into the new year and on ward.

The ONLY coach that let him fly was Muller and KK looked good in those playoffs. So try again. Every other coach has screwed this kid over for tired vets like staal, or The Defensive Specialist-that hates being a defensive specialist. When Muller gave him a chance in the plaoffs he looked to have turned the corner. Go look at the playoff threads from 2020. Or even the preseason and the first few games when he had toffoli on his line. Toff got moved off KKs line to help struggling danault (goaless in a year), then had the mixmaster of linemates. Even staal had more steady linemates. Thats important foir young guys, even in non hockey jobs.

You're trying to use a 10 games streak in which he shot at 40% to say "he doesn't look nearly as bad on the second line"? He didn't exactly get very tough assignments neither. Which he likely will have to get used to going forward if things stay as they are at C.

IS the guy that played him during the playins when CJ finally wasn't there. Thats when the entire board felt "hey this kid doesn't look nearly as bad on the second line!" Don’t forget his rookie year where 60 games in CJ decided KK was “tired” and a few days later they acquired Nate Thompson.

basically since that exact moment…he’s been an afterthought for this coaching staff except for the short stretch that Muller coached him.

You were called a hater because instead of simply saying you disagree with Bowman, you insult the men by questioning his mental aptitude. So ya, that's justified.

I never said nobody has ever used the word hate/haters here man...so not sure what it is you thought you just proved.

That's exactly what you're claiming here!

Nobody is labeling anyone who doesn't think KK isn't the next Kopitar as a hater.
.

As for the Bowman post, calling me a Bowman hater may be justified but you will have to explain to me the logic of how questioning Bowman makes me a KK hater.

Lol nice. That guy loves to contradict himself
They wouldn't. Come on...

I wish Kotkaniemi's defenders were a little bit more honest in this discussion.

Some of them claimed he should have been our #1C in his rookie year. Apparently, Tatar-Danault-Gallagher line was holding the team back (despite being one of the best lines in the NHL) and there was an immense depth of offensive potential if only Kotkaniemi got the chance to play with Tatar and Gallagher.

Some claimed he was playing Selke-calibre defence. They even showed the charts, which, predictably, ignored the context of deployment.

When other posters started to hold Kotkaniemi accountable to these idiotic claims, the defenders cried foul.

Let's not kid ourselves. They largely brought it upon themselves.
This! This happened with AG too. They have these ridiculous expectations and predictions and get mad when anyone tries to bring up reality. And the excuses lol. Just hilarious.

It might have looked bad at the time but KK has shown over his three years that his conditioning isn't good enough at the NHL level and he does get tired as the season drags on.

I doubt CJ did that because he doesn't like the kid.

What is funny about the posts on this board since years now is the fact that many folks wanted Danault out and away to allow KK to be a top-six center. Now most of the posters are scared shit at the possibility of seing KK as the #2 centerman next season.

Poor KK, how will he ever succeed when every coach except the great Muller is out to get him?

CJ liked the kid a lot. He kept him in the line up 3 years ago. He sheltered him like his mama. He took him out of the line up when he was sure KK was too tired to continue.

...Tyler Seguin says Hi...
Seguin was given 17 minutes a game and produced. He exploded in Dallas but he was never bad in Boston offensively. Julien might not have liked the kid but he turned out fine regardless.

KK is on his third coach and 2 of them thought that he tired out enough to scratch him. Unless there's an org-wide conspiracy against KK I'm inclined to believe the kid just gets tired.

It's the doubters that are scared shitless. Personally, I'm ecstatic and hope that KK makes the most of this opportunity and cement his role as a top-6 C.
