Aside from this post reading like a presidential tweet, what the hell are you talking about? Nothing for Nash? Spooner, Lindgren, and a 1st is a haul for a 33 year old rental.

Seems to be the case thus far.
The draft will tell the rest of the story but hopefully not confirm it.

i firmly believe jg is one of the best in the game. first, just look at what he did in boston in like 3 months, he created the core of their current team in that window. second, he's been a fantastic contract negotiator/recruiter. third, and this is more personal opinion, he has been very transparent in his moves and decisions and at least to me it makes all the difference in the world - that he's regularly stood behind the mic and answered questions directly rather than throwing out some pr shill to face the heat.

he also comes off as very pragmatic in assessment - assets are assets and you need to evaluate accordingly wrt where your franchise stands at present against the competition. by all accounts appears completely unbound to emotion and bias - would go so far as to say belichikian in his approach. won't find a bigger supporter than me.

He inherited a mess that Sather created. A barren system, a team that had no shot an being a true contender, no cap space. He created space, brought in extra picks in a very deep draft and even has a prospect of two to show for it in a very short period of time

Has everything been perfect? No. Do we know his role is some of the bigger mistakes? No. But there is enough here to give him the opportunity that is in front. He will be judged by his deadline moves, draft moves, draft picks and what he does in the off season.

This summer window will be important for Jeff as a GM - new direction was rebuild the team he stated, and I can quote from one of his recent interviews: "I don`t see it as a tough time." he mentioned when he was asked about the franchise status and the plans for the future.

The Gorton-Brooks exchange was funny when he asked him if he wanted to apply for the coaching job.

Lots of dopey fans on that Livestream. People calling for Messier to coach. Bring back Jagr. Should have never traded our players at the deadline, etc.

There are a few of those on here, too, but it makes me appreciate not having to mingle with the majority of those uninformed folks in the general public fandom. The Rangers letter/strategy was the right move, but I can imagine how many people disagreed with it.

More importantly, now that we have set a course, I can already see a lot of people (on here, too) that are already impatient with the rebuild process.

Ruff was brought in last season. Hasn't been here as long as Williams and Arniel. Gorton probably just wants to give him at least a nod to HC interview and then let him go.
