You needed a coach to kick the secondary players in the nuts and hold primary players accountable. They hired a minor leaguer who will slurp McDrais bxxx.

OBC forever. What a bunch of clowns. Just can't let go of the success that is now 30-40 years past. Many fans of the team now were not even born. The game is completely different. Im so sick of this. I just dont understand why the people running this team are so bad at it.

It's funny, the track record of the Oilers organization is so long and so poor, at this point, I realize I just kind of don't care all that much anymore. I still watch games and cheer for the team to win, but it's become more of a secondary thing for me these past few years. Heck, I haven't watched a complete game yet this season yet.

Firing the 76th coach in the McDavid era instead of addressing glaring roster issues whilst bringing in another unqualified OBC member doesn't do much to change that for me.

I truly hope the team has success and can win a Cup with McDavid, but at this point, I don't see many signs pointing to that being a realistic possibility anytime soon.

I want someone from the media to ask Knoblauch if Coffey was his hire. Katz is getting his grubby hands involved and getting another old HOF to come in with 0 experience coaching except for almost 10 years ago in Ontario league. This has to work but I have little faith that it will in the long run.

Just the way you phrased it seemed funny, I never had any faith in him to begin with. McDavid hire 100%. And to be honest if they have to rename Edmonton McDavidville to keep 97 here forever then do it.

I agree with you. I was hopeful about Jeff Jackson but this just seems like more of the same.
Like I said before, maybe it works out but you can't tell me that Knoblauch and Coffey were hired because they were the most qualified candidates. It's just more "comfortable" hires with no accountability to be had.

Not 1, but 2 learning coaches. Coffeys resume as a coach is pretty thin.

I do believe he has value as a consultant to the owner as he has some biz cred and was a HHOF player. But f*** off with the coaching assignment. That seems to be a joke. I guess he was willing to have his reputation sullied.

Canning a coach McDrai like could be a nail in the coffin of the McDrai era as much as keeping Woody and seeing what happens. Somehow I doubt Holland did this, the lazy f***.
