Paul Coffey is a used car salesman. The dude retired from the NHL more than 20 years ago and has been away from the game since with the exception of being gifted the occasional made up roll by Darryl Katz.

I liked Woody but he had no clue how to coach NHL level defence or make the proper in game adjustments on the fly. His winning record is mainly due to Draisaitl scoring 1.5 PPG and Mcdavid scoring 2 PPG.

Gulutzan literally coached the PP to be the best in recorded NHL history, that should buy him some serious rope.

Wonder how the other players on the team feel about this? If it works short term, experience tells me it won’t long term. You’ll never build proper chemistry in the dressing room when the captain thinks he is a scout, GM and whatever else he fancies himself as.

Absolutely unqualified to pass judgement on Knoblauch, aside from the optics don’t look great - I guess it remains to be seen. I also hate the optics on Coffey - he’s done nothing of note to earn thiS. Just seems like an obc hire, would’ve preferred Huddy.
