There’s nothing wrong with the water. The problem is the red wine. You always hear the phrase about how there is “something in the water in Edm“, well, it had to be true because this franchise continues make so many boneheaded decisions. Lol
Coffey didn’t play defence. He was a 4th forward. How will he help the dcore? How is one of the best players of all time not qualified to be an assistant coach… ex players get hired to be head coach / GM on less.
Manson taught the PK. GG was the PP guyNot just Schwartz but GG too. Why?
Who was the systems coach? PK has always sucked.
I’ll take the words of guys in the room with him over clueless fans.Hopefully you’re right. Sentiment so far seems to be the opposite.
Agree. Can’t help feeling that the “Oilers 23-24” has become a soap opera taking on a life here.Shocked this team would want a new coach, he really seemed right for the group - thoughtful, progressive, well-spoken, intelligent.
Interested to see what happens next. Never really a dull day with this franchise.
Paul Coffey is a used car salesman. The dude retired from the NHL more than 20 years ago and has been away from the game since with the exception of being gifted the occasional made up roll by Darryl Katz.Aren't the majority of asst coaches ex players? I maybe don't think it was the best hire but calling the guy unqualified seems a tad contrived. Nepo hire 100%
ThisI liked Woody but he had no clue how to coach NHL level defence or make the proper in game adjustments on the fly. His winning record is mainly due to Draisaitl scoring 1.5 PPG and Mcdavid scoring 2 PPG.
Lol lol lol lol lol
pretty much sums up my thoughts
For sure, players know a phony and someone that is worthwhile as a coach.I’ll take the words of guys in the room with him over clueless fans.
Im only quoting what I was told. As with all coaches I will take a wait and see approach as to what his approach looks like and how his systems look at the NHL level.
Gulutzan literally coached the PP to be the best in recorded NHL history, that should buy him some serious rope.GG won’t get fired for a long while. He’s extremely popular with the players, like Schwartz is. GG gets better results at least.
That's good to hear, as with all other coaches, gotta give him a try before crucifying him.
Hopefully you’re right. This is a pivotal hire and we need it to be a good one.I’ll take the words of guys in the room with him over clueless fans.
