If you consider the assetts needed to replace a 1C - that move probably set us back three years when it comes to resources and is enough in itself to beat GMTM when it comes to doing harm.
Tim Murray was terrible but Botts has somehow managed to be even worse when it comes to cap+talent management.
 
He has inflicted the type of damage on this organization it took Milbury years longer to inflict on the Islanders. He has failed miserably in every conceivable way. We are in worse shape as an organization than when he took the job even with him being gifted Dahlin. There is no reasonable or credible argument for allowing him to keep his job for another second. And hearing The Instigators talking about him making moves at the deadline makes me cringe at the thought of what horrible move he will make to inflict more damage on our team.

I am less concerned about deadline deals than I am about what his summer roster shaping look like yet again. It’s possible - I would assert even likely - that he ties up cap space with wastrels again for a fourth summer. That is where he can do the longest lasting damage - tying up cap and spinning out more draft picks to do it, leaving them in their perpetual limbo they currently occupy for even more of Jack’s time here and soaking more of Dahlin’s.

You haters are impatient. Murray ruined everything, Botts needs at least 4-5 years to screw up for 3 years to gain valuable experience. Now he will know for sure how to tell who are the good players or not.

I am gonna get on the record now then. I preached patience and wanted to wait and see what happens. That time is over, time to dump Botts.

I don't regret preaching patience and will likely do so again regardless of who is hired after Botts.

its the compounding nature of the ROR trade.

We spent the assets to acquire a #1 center and then dumped the #1 center.

it’s different when a team loses a #1 center they drafted and developed internally (Stastny, Duchene).

the compounding effect of the ROR trade... we paid top top dollar for a #1 center and sold him for pennies on the dollar in the same window

Not really top dollar. Only Zads #4-5 D-Man and JT Compher Good young middle 6ixer showed they belong in the nhl. but i digress,

botts treated RoR like a cap dump then tried to play it off.

It's one thing to still believe in being patient. I believe all of us would agree with that. I think, where the lines was drawn, was the belief in what the GM was doing was standing with that idea. There was a good number that saw what he did and said he was being patient and others pointed to what he did and disagreed.

For me, the last time he showed patience was in the 2018 season up until he signed Mittelstadt to a ELC. Once that happened I started to see his roster decisions leaning to the incompetence side than the patient side.

Then he doubled down on incompetence that offseason.

it was top dollar at the time, regardless of what they became.

A marginal 2c that can score 40 pt and a winger since last summer and a decent backup goalie are too much to ask for since December last year? You must have Stockholm syndrome.. Yes murray traded picks in a great draft but Ryan johnson? They both suck in opposite ways..

Thus team knows it's out ..its boring and the squad is only 3 players and a goalie away from stealing a first round right now.. Screw Annie and tomorrow..
 
Im still miffed that after the fan backlash, Botts saying the Pegula's are pissed, the media attention and the absolute eggs they laid last week.... This f*** hasn't done a f***ing thing.

We love hockey but its becoming unwatchable... W 5 or 6 more losses..they are out.. If it's a tank.. I'm shooting at it and trying to kill whoever funded it... Picks take at least two years... I'm sure eichel and the rest who care are all losing their love , outgunned for no fn reason.. The ironic kicker is no FA will sign with this team if they dont finish well like last year.. Who cares if cozens mitts and pekar make us competitive next year... Big if .. We could have been that much better if we aquired some competent forwards to surround jack Eichel..

Also, to keep this on topic, I just want to voice my opinion that Jason Botterill is not very good at his job.

It was all Mureay cratering this team. Botts had nothing to work with and has had to rebuild this entire organization. Horrible cap left by Murray tied Botterill's hands. Just have patience until 21-22. That summer we will have real cap space to try to win.

They could have competed this year in this league of parity.. No offense, I made that argument last year and Murray harmed the team but Botts will kill Eichel and anyone else that gave their all this year by sitting on his moronic hands.. Any real help and we are playing in the postseason..
