So, Knight doesn't practice hard?

That's the first time I have heard that. Thought one of his big strengths was his motor/work ethic? If Knight was dogging it in practice, he shouldn't be playing, but was that really the case?

REACTIONARY POST- WARNING, WILL ROBINSON, WARNING!!!!

thats what I heard as well but I'm not an insider either maybe Spooner st can add to this he seems to be connected

As my buddies like to say, the Jared Knight posts will never go away even if you didnt post once in them....they like to post, let it go and they post

all my posts will be reactionary to the anti- Knight crowd

I am not at the Providence practices, so I wouldn't know.

Answer me this though...

When Knight was in PRO, he or a guy like Camara had a turnover or a penalty, the line would sit for the period, maybe even the game. The other night, Cherniwchan gets not one, but two penalties late in periods one and two, yet he's out there early in the third and gets a goal.

Such patience for one player, but not the same set of standards for others?

Odd...unless coaches have guys they like and guys they don't like, but that never happens

It happens, but if a player has talent and a future in this organization, he will rise inspite of what the coach thinks of him. You're not just implicating Cassidy here, you are implicating the whole Bruin's organization. And I don't buy it. But I guess we'll see in the near future.

WARNING, WIL ROBINSON, WARNING!!!!!

so Dom says Knight doesnt practice hard. case closed.

never heard that but I'm blinded by him

I will continue to defend and go at it with all of you in a reactionary post of course

No need to sling mud at Dom. He just gave his opinion. Objectivity is rare on this board :D

I would guess that Knight had people that liked him in the organization? Probably just not enough of them or the right ones, apparently?

Guys slip through the cracks all the time, btw. I recently spoke with a guy (American) who was a very good Div 1 college player, signed a Pro deal and called it quits after one year. Said the line between making it and not is razor thin and that there are a lot of guys in the AHL that can play in the NHL, given the right timing and opportunity.

Sometimes that doesn't happen.

Pure objectivity is reality - the comment was subjective

I've only heard the opposite but I just started following the Bruins when they drafted Segs

Knight is a power forward stuck in a skill guys body. He was great in junior at bullrushing to the net, out-muscling the d out front and scoring. He's not strong enough to do that against the much bigger d of the ahl. He was great at using his angles and speed at junior to blow by d on the wing. Ahl D don't screw up their angles and have closed the gap on his former significant speed advantage. His hands aren't soft enough to be a weapon in front of the net. He can't create his own shot, and with the puck on his stick his decision making is poor and his handles are poor. That's why cassidy didn't play him, that's why he wasn't productive and that will be the reason he never is productive at the NHL level.

Wow, why didn't you tell me all that sooner and saved me a lot of time and trouble rooting for him?

Damn, that's hours and hours of my life I will never have back.

I think I was one of the first on the bus waving the "knights a bust flag." So far all that's happened is more people got on the bus since 2+ years ago

That was a joke.

I obviously disagree with your assessment, but to each his own. If we all saw things the same way, this world would be a pretty boring place.

Warning!!! Reactionary Post!!!

This is an excellent post and not just stating he sucks. I have read you a long time and I like your views. You have been on this since day 1

I disagree with some of this and see him as a more physical Paille with a much better shot.

I fully expect Knight to prove u wrong

Cassidy - going all subjective went against what he was instructed using his longstanding relationship with his superior -and I'll be curious if Chiarelli stays (and by extension Cassidy) if Sweeney blows out of dodge.

Dom doesn't have any secret agendas on this topic unlike you. So I'll take his as unbiased. Keep on trucking.

Warning!!! Reactionary post

So everything I say is unbiased and Dom says is correct?

Who has a secret agenda ?

So I'm not allowed to have an opinion?

Which reminds me I watched the Iowa - Utica game on AHL live

Knight had the best hit- destroyed Peter Andersson putting him out with a great open ice hit in the corner

His in-game decision making was excellent

Dan has a "secret" agenda concerning Knight?

Shhhhh, don't let anybody find out

I think Dan's opinion on Knight is pretty well known :D

As far as Dom's opinion. He is one of the most knowledgable OHL guys I have ever come across and I take his opinions on those guys as gospel. However, as Dom himself said, Knight in the OHL is a long way from Knight in PRO, in more ways than one.

It sounds like he is making an assumption, based on his hockey experience and maybe things he was told (?) that the coach wasn't wowed by Knight in practice.

I am making an assumption (based on my experience and things that I have been told) that Knight's work ethic hasn't changed and the coach simply never warmed to him.

It happens.

WARNING!!!! Reactionary post

As you know some of my buds at work are Bruins season ticket holders and members here. I sit down at lunch and the first comment was 'when did your Knight Agenda become a secret and why weren't we told- or was that a secret to?'

don't mean to hijack the thread, but the "secret agenda" comment caused coffee to exit mouth and nose. TY

haven't laughed that hard since the days when Don Cherry, Bruwinz, and JFM left us all rolling in the isles.

ok . . . back to your regular scheduled programing.

This thread is about the trade and both players involved in it. I don't see why there is any issue with that. I am enjoying the discussion.

reviewing today

Knight has or may have questionable practice habits:amazed:

I have a secret agenda:biglaugh:

have to admit these are the last two things I expected to come out of today

not to mention the 'pure objectivity' phrase which I actually kind of like

Me too...

But then again, I enjoy train wrecks as well

Zach is 1-4-5 in six games with the ProBs. Knight is 0-1-1 in three games with Iowa in three. Don't know why he hasn't played more.

But I'm sure the FO is happy thus far with the transaction.

Knight has only played in three games for one of two reasons:

1) Spooner St and Monte are right and he sucks

2) Iowa has only played three games since the trade

Hmmmm...I think I will go with Door #2 :sarcasm:

What do I win, Bob? :D

REACTIONARY Post!!!!! wARNING, WARNING, WARNING!!!!
I watched the last Iowa game and Knight looked very good- put a guy out of for the game with a clean hit called an elbow:laugh:

havent seen Phillips yet but I hope he's as good as Cassidy is telling people he is.

Boston could use another young forward and his stats are trending towards bringing him back- plus he went to Lawrence Academy
