in football, if there is not enough evidence to overturn they don't do it..and they didn't - the corner where the puck goes in for a split second is all dark

No, it was 100% conclusive. No doubt whatsoever it fully crossed the line. They just got screwed by a bad break.

- regardless Canada is pounding Russia - hitting everything that moves, great D zone coverage and forecheck - they are full measure for this lead

This I agree with. Some people are bound to suggest that if that goal goes in, the flow of the game would be completely different and, subsequently, the result. But I don't buy it. After the no-goal, Russia came out flying and played their best hockey of the game. (just like you would anticipate if the score had been 2-1) Canada held the fort during the flurry and came back and scored a hard earned goal. And then another. (and the 4-1 goal would have been as much a backbreaker as the 3-0 goal was)

Unfortunately - for both sides - this game will always be marred by controversy. But Canada is fully deserving to be in the lead and have proven they are as good - if not better - as any team in this tournament.

As with all Championship games, there has to be a winner and there has to be a loser.

Congratulations to Russia for a hard fought game and a well deserved silver medal. :handclap: :handclap:

Congratulations to Canada for a hard fought Gold medal game :handclap: :handclap:

Gotta feel bad for the Russians, but the Canadians were full value for this.

The irresistable force just splattered all over the windshield of the immoveable object.

The boards were down there for a while .. doh!

Yep, I thought it was just my interent.

Good job by the boys on getting the gold for Canada again, and to think that people were questioning whether we would even get a medal this year.

Also Downie should definitely be Canada's player of the game.

Brent Sutter is the first coach to win back-to-back gold medals and is 12-0 as the coach for Canada.

I can't stop grinning :D
The boys battled the odds, worked hard and played like a team. Way to go Team Canada :handclap: :handclap:

You can't beat the refs at this level. Clutch and grab and dive - this is canadian style and the refs allowed them to play it. Worse team won in this ugly ugly game.

Pogge should be the MVP of the tourney
No doubt. Named player of the game.

Malkin, Emelin, and Khudobin are the players of the tournament for Russia.

Pogge, Downie, and Staal are the players of the tournament for Canada.

C'mon, Russians were dominated in every category. Give the Canadian boys credit where it's due.:D
