There was that one non call near the end of the period I noticed (thanks to P-Mac) but that aside, Canada has gotten far too many non-calls, especially that one in the remaining seconds, and there have been many more

I mean what about the penalty when the Canadian tripped himself over the Russians stick? Its not like the Russian used his stick to trip him, the Canadian just wasnt looking how close he was to the other players and, luckily for him, drew a penalty

There were many, many non-calls on both sides. I am not saying Canada was innocent at all of anything. Russia got away with quite a few hooks and slashes in the period.

Feel free to capitalize more letters in your next "No" reply, but the truth is that the officiating has been pretty even.

When you trip on someones stick it doesn't matter why it happened. Just like a highstick, if you stand with your stick at head level, and I decide to skate into it and cut myself, you'll be on your way to the box. That's how these rules are made up. Canada has looked great thus far, but we all need to remember how Canada fell apart in the 3rd period with the lead in the Gold Medal Game for 3 straight years from 2002-2004.

It's true, there's still 40 minutes to go and Malkin very well might turn it up and get a hat trick. But hey, he's the story going into this... he's the focus and he will criticized, by more people than just me, if he does not dig himself out of his ugly minus-2 hole. A great player, but a bad period. If he had scored a couple of goals that period, it would be a Malkin lovefest, even though it was just ''one period''. That's life.
