typical RUS - CAN Skill against hitting

And typical Russian myopic view. Yes, with respect to these two teams, Russia is superior in the skill department. But it is laughable to suggest that Russia is typically the more skilled team and Canada are just the lunch bucket players. This Russian team doesn't hold a candle to last year's Canada team in any department, skill included.

* preface not trying to start a flame war. But Russians have a completely unjustified stance with regards to Russia clearly being a superior hockey nation in terms of skill.

Too many uncalled penalties on Canada. Wrestling, clutching grabbing. Really should be 5 on 3 now but the ref turned the blind eye on it.

What's the score and how are both teams looking in the early part of the game?

I'm not really rooting for anyone in this game, but it should be a good one.

you will be happy to know Comeau has a goal and an assist and it's 2-0 Canada

I was extremely impressed for the better part of the first period ... but there two goals ... he didn't look so good...

Really? He didn't look very effective to me. Staal stood him up 2 or 3 times and then he (Malkin) looked quite bad on both goals against.

Great period by the Canadians, Pogge is playing well but we're still down on shots. We've got to pick up on the D
I wouldn't exactly call it a "Great" period ... we were still outshot by a ton right until the end... Weak defensive plays at the end and, I feel the goals were kind of shaky on Khudobin's part...
