Chychrun has a very powerful stride, but an average control on turns and quick stops. I saw him during the game three times blowing his tire. He almost injured himself. It has to be addressed right away. I believe it is a main cause for his many injuries.
Coyote fan coming in peace. You guys got a good one in Chych. Great trade for you guys. Of course over on the Coyote board most said it was a good deal because of where that 1st. pick is currently. Hope you guys get into the playoffs. Also noticed him getting open and looking to get the puck in transition
I would like to see a larger sample size but he did fall down a few times.
Is it the ice? (the announcers seemed to think it was in rough shape)
Is it his skating?
Is it rust from not playing in weeks and trying too hard?
Much too quick to draw conclusions.
Good take on Chych. He gets labelled for poor defensive play, but I think he is better than people think. Like you said, he is really good with his stick.I thought he was pretty solid defensively last night.
He caught up to Patrick Kane and knocked the puck off of his stick to prevent a breakaway.
Another time there was a Ranger close to the net, kind of at the side of it and a player open across the front of the net. Chychrun, being the only player back at that time, made a really nice play. He had a great position between the two players and forced the one Ranger into not having a clean shot as Talbot was quick to cover that side of the net. Then when the ranger made his pass across to the open man Chychrun just intercepted it and moved it out of the zone like it was a regular event.
He is really good with his stick and he naturally takes the proper position when defending. He is fast, strong and smart. Having not yet played a game with his teammates, let alone practice, he was still one of the best defenders on the ice in my opinion.

That's Chych. Also noticed him getting open and looking to get the puck in transition
Thanks for the support! I always considered our two fanbases similar because of where our Buildings are located relative to the centre of the city.Coyote fan coming in peace. The Dorion update is what I was hoping for. Once the adrenaline wears off, Chychrun might of been a bit sore.I think he’s fine. He did post game interviews last and the potential injury didn’t come up
Isn't it interesting that Zub got the least amount of time among the D, wondering if he is still nursing an injury or still not back to full form. Holden in playing almost 18 min is also interesting, they are much bigger on D with him in the lineup. What a difference on man makes to icetime distribution....
Last night vs NYR in a game we fought from behind:
Sanderson 21:42
Hamonic 21:15
Chabot 19:21
Chychrun 19:16
Holden 17:55
Zub 17:10
* Zub and Chabot don't kill penalties so 11 min on the PK drew them down, especially with only 6 on the PP.

Zub doesn't play on either special teams unit, and there was 17 mins on special team. He got plenty of time at ES, most on the team actually.Isn't it interesting that Zub got the least amount of time among the D, wondering if he is still nursing an injury or still not back to full form. I liked his game last night, despite the obvious rust. He really likes to activate in the O zone and push the envelope. We are going to need to learn to cover when he does that.
Not gonna be a big time rock defensively but he will be huge for possession numbers.

Absolutely, i'm exaggerating when I say Phillips has anything near a dad bod. He's more fit than my fat ass will ever be, but at first glance, his body type doesn't scream athlete compared to someone like ChychrunChris walked by me the other night and we said hello to one another
He still doesn't have a dad bod
Zub plays on the PK at least he used to & should given he was our best defensive D.Zub doesn't play on either special teams unit, and there was 17 mins on special team. He got plenty of time at ES, most on the team actually.
Holden and Hamonic got a lot of PK time, same with Sandy. That's why they came in as high as they did.
He's 5th on the PK depth chart at the best this year, even Brannstrom has averaged more time on the PK this year.Zub plays on the PK at least he used to & should given he was our best defensive D.
