Traded Jakob Chychrun (D)

No reason to ignore the 20-30 games he missed on average in the 4 seasons from 16/17 to 19/20, other than to pretend he's more durable than he's actually been over his career.

He's gotten surgeries on both knees, his wrist twice, shoulder and ankle. That's not going to help going forward.

Have to be realistic about how many games we can expect him to play in a normal season.
Another example of how great Tkachuk is & resilient given he hardly every misses games & plays a position & a rugged style that one would think would lead to more injuries. It's amazing what he is accomplishing in his short time here.

I’m not pretending anything man. I’m not writing the cheques to pay him. The person took recent data. In the past 3 seasons he’s been relatively durable. That’s all.

With Kleven on board they are slowly starting to build up the backend & it shows a lot of promise for the future of this team. Chychrun will be fine & Ottawa is starting to build up enough depth to withstand a loss in the top 4.

Friggin guy needs to get some fat to insulate the muscles.

Waiting to see him and MacKinnon share more workout/diet details for the memes

Monster! LFG!

So he’s heavy on the meat and big Z cut it out. Not going to compare careers, health, longevity but I guess the story is different diets can work OR diet isn’t so important as long as you’re in the gym and sleeping etc. and not eating the processed foods of course.

If he needs to eat a bag of Doritos to stay on the ice and off IR, I hope he considers it.

Liver? Yuck!

Often the guys who are in the best condition are the ones who are down with nagging injuries the most often. These guys are like highly tuned performance vehicles - when they are running well they are a sight to behold, but one little thing goes wrong and they are in the shop. They just don't "feel right", and it takes them longer to get back than some plugger.

Related, I can remember Marc Crawford getting himself in some trouble when he was coaching the Canucks when he said of Naslund, "Markus is very particular about the way he feels." Some media felt that Crawford was saying that Naslund was soft. There was definitely a bit of that, but it's more nuanced than that - again, like a lot of elite athletes, Naslund was very aware of his body and when something didn't feel quite right. Crawford, as a player, was a banging winger who scored most of his goals from in front of the crease...
