Has Muzzin been placed on the 2nd PP unit now? Also is he no longer playing with Doughty? Has Sekera's arrival taken ice time away from Muzzin? I feel like he was playing alot better before Sekera arrived, thoughts?

thoughts?

Okay. This is probably like the 4th or 5th player discussion threads that i have seen on here. Yeah i know our Defense isn't what it was like back in 2012, 2013, or 2014. Yeah we dont have Scuds or Mitchell and now Voynov(since late October). But everyone needs to take a huge step back with all this complaining about the players on the Kings. I have heard people complain and whine about Muzzin, Stoll, Brown, Kopitar, Richards, Doughty, Big Rig, Kinger, Nolan, and Clifford. There is prob a few others. I would love to see you guys lace up the skates and go out and do what those guys do for a living. Prob at least 50-60 percent of you guys would come back and say i cant do this. Hockey is hard to play. Yeah the players make stupid moves when they are on the ice, but you would do the same if you were in their shoes/skates also. So stop your complaining about how this player is bad and the other players aren't.

He has been good all season. People blow him up over the turnovers because they can be glaring, but they actually aren't all that frequent. They are just terrible when they happen. He is a reactionary fan's favorite whipping boy.

Muzzin is who he is and keeps improving. I can't ask for anything else more.

Just like I can't ask Nolan or Lewis to replace Williams if we lose him.

I thought he was playing wonderful last game, then the puck goes in off him. Like Jason said below, he doesn't make a lot of mistakes but when he does they are the epic kind. For some reason, bad luck seems to follow him around on the ice, weird deflections and such.

I'm often critical of his play, but he's more than earned his keep over the last few weeks. He's still adjusting to the NHL game just like any younger defenseman and he's right on track. You just never know when you will need that fire extinguisher...

he's mostly through the growing pains, and honestly we could do a helluva lot worse for a top4 dman

not sure why people bag on him still, his underlying possession numbers are still absurd and outweigh the negatives by far imo.

2nd best defender on the team. He'd be the number 1 D on a number of teams, especially the bad ones. He's got the points and the advanced stats to back him up. No issues with him whatsoever.

I wouldn't even call what happened with that goal a mistake. It was an unfortunate bounce. But he was in the position of being dammed either way. He hit the puck and it bounced in the net. If he hit it and it went into the corner it would have been a good play. He doesn't go for the puck he didn't stop a cross ice pass, which is the job of the defender.

Completely agree here. This guy is one of the most under appreciated players by many fans here it's crazy. I guess everyone should be perfect.

Yup, that he is.

He just needs to calm down when he has the puck, some times it looks like he's gonna fall down when he's carrying the puck up ice. Don't trade him, let him continue to mature. With Voynov coming back next year, and a healthy Martinez, his ice time will go down. So Sutter can find the right amount of ice time for him. The Kings did when a cup with him paired with Doughty.

It's just the same ol story. He's mostly fantastic, but for some reason, his errors are just magnificent in scope. but it's strange because he doesn't necessarily make riskier passes than anyone else. It just seems like when he's playing huge minutes maybe it's a lapse in focus from when he puts his head down to turn/move with the puck. Shrug.

I think it's people just looking at his age. He's 26 but even with this years games he's still under 200 for 5 more games at this point. So he started the year in the middle of his second full year. He was a late bloomer. So like any player in those early years mistakes happen.
