I'll go on the record and say this is my favorite hockey photo ever. He looks like a kid on Christmas.

You guys think he will get a lot more time on the PK in the future, or is it what we see now is what we get. Is he good enough defensively to play PK?

His role is only going to grow with the team, especially with Regehr retired

LHD for next season, Muzzin/McNabb/Martinez, Schultz (maybe)...... someone has to play on the PK.

Someone can look up the stats to verify but it seemed like Muzzin put in much more time on the PK in the 2014 playoffs compared to the regular season. I expected him to get more PK time last season as a result but it didn't happen.

He's already at 22:42 a game, 2:33 on the PP, :55 on the PK, not sure the Kings need to feed him even more minutes on the PK at this point. I think he's where he needs to be minutes-wise at this point, maybe a little lower next season if Martinez bounces back to form and Voynov is healthy and on the team. Leaning on the big guns too much probably cost the Kings last season and there seems to be more depth and some younger legs ready to take on more responsibility.

I don't see any way he doesn't get more PK time. Doughty, Muzzin, Greene...Martinez? Who are our PKers next season? That's a big question to answer with the departures of Mitchell, Regehr, and uncertainty of Voynov.

Martinez logged 40 seconds more penalty kill time per game last season than Muzzin.

Good to know but doesn't change my point, other than reaffirms that Marty will be a big presence on the PK. I'd argue that Muzzin is the obvious 4th guy with those departures.

I'm glad we have a guy like Muzzin, who seemingly came out of no where and turned into one of our best defenseman.

Hopefully McNabb can develop into a shut down defender. The Kings need somebody to step into the Mitchell/Scuderi/Regehr role and given McNabb's age and fresh legs if he can do that the Kings will be tough to beat given the deep roster.

What about McBain? Our PP last season looked noticeably better whenever he was in it.

I totally agree. I think Muzzin wasn't used because we simply had better options, not because he was a bad penalty killer. Penalty Kill pairings will likely be Doughty - Muzzin and Martinez - Greene until Voynov comes back (I'm assuming, I know).
