You must have missed the part where i said, i don't trade for pace or if's and when's
The winger i trade for scores 30+ goals per season.
By those standards, Guentzel is a 20 goal winger.
I am absolutely not interested in why he doesn't score more than 20 goals per season

The context is that i want a winger who scores 30+ goals per season regardless of any excuses

Here's the complete list of NHL wingers who've scored at least 30 goals in each of the last 3 seasons:

Guentzel scored more goals than any rookie in NHL history in the playoffs on the way to a cup.

Over this season and last season 14 players have more goals than Guentzel.

Over this season and last season he'd be the top scoring player by goals and points on the Kings.

Absolutely agree, this shows how bad the Kings have been over the last 4-5 years.

Not sure how we get to only 14 players have more goals.

This season as we speak he is 29th in goals
2020-21: 19th
2019-20: 79th

Pastrnak put up four straight years of 34+ goals with short seasons until last years very shortened year, where he paced once again over 34 goals. Over that period, he was averaging 43 goals over a full season. Give me a break with your cherry picked stats. The guy is a 40 goal winger minimum on a normal year.

lol. His response was to someone making awful assessments based on those shortened seasons. @Dipsy Doodle was commenting on Guentzel's goal pace.

Vilardi sucks
Enough with this potential nonsense
He hasn’t shown anything resembling potential in the NHL

Yes. He had COVID this year and got cheapshotted after scoring his 20th goal in 39 games in 19-20. He's top twenty goal scorer in the league.

He was 12th in the league on 12/30/2019 when he got tripped into the end boards (after scoring his 20th in 39 games) and he needed shoulder surgery that kept him out until the playoffs.

If we were trading Guentzel for pure futures, I'd want the equivalent of 3 1sts. 2 1sts + former 1st or something of that ilk.

If we are talking player swaps, a bigger forward - either C or W - would work for me. But the guy would have to be really good, like one of the best players on his respective team. Often as Pens fans we through out M. Tkatchuk as one for-instance.

All this Kings nonsense and an idiotic poster not accepting "pacing" as an argument during 2 COVID-shortened seasons is just noise. Dumb noise.

ya know while we’re at it, crosby sucks too. I mean really inconsistent. like dude puts up 100 points then disappears for a while and puts up like 34. i’m sorry but i just can’t put value on “what if’s”. and that malkin guy doesn’t even have a point this season... i hate this place man.

I'd like him next to Zegras and a lot of people in this thread are delusional.

Perhaps you should read the arguments of the person I'm discussing this with.

Not sure how to make salaries equal out for cap, but would Valimaki + Monahan as a basis do anything for Pittsburgh? Not sure their need on D, but given Malkin's injury having another center could definitely help and I don't see them rebuilding.

Nah.

Malkin's coming back shortly and the Pens still have Crosby, Carter, and Blueger.

The only thing that would really work is a different kind of high end scoring winger to change the mix. And it'd have to be a pretty damn good one.

sounds fair. Not a flames fan, but live in Calgary. If Guentzel was available Calgary should be all over it.
