Most overrated player ever. Sid made this guy. He's a one dimensional 20 goal scorer in a different situation.

Kopitar isn't the topic here, Guentzel is.
I don't trade for paces or could be's. I trade for what i can see and this is around 20 goals per season.
On the Kings roster that means roughly 10 and this is exactly what i would offer if someone insists on trading him to us.

Personally i wouldn't trade for him at all since he is not a missing piece due to his age issues regarding the Kings future core

You're going to argue if Guentzal played 40 more games in a season, he wouldn't score a single goal?

Even this season he's putting up points at ES at the same rate as guys like Point, Marner and Mackinnon and that's without Crosby/Malkin.

Imagine still being triggered over the Tkachuk/Guentzal thread

Lias Andersson + 3rd

for

Guentzel

Pit gets their forward they can mature and a 3rd. La gets their complementary piece. The only concern is how inflated has Guentel's numbers been because of Sid and Geno. Otherwise, it looks like a pretty healthy trade. Both teams win.

I would do Juuso Välimäki, Dillon Dube, and a 2nd rounder.

To Los Angeles: Guentzel

To Pittsburgh: Turcotte, Vilardi

Kings get an all-star calibre 1st line winger

Penguins get a highly touted prospect in Turcotte, plus a young player in Vilardi who has some upside, but could use a change of scenery
Are you serious? Overpayment much? You're giving up two valuable pieces of LAs future for a 30 - 40 point winger on a good team? Dude, drop what you're doing and think about this.

Whatever you think of Guentzel, characterizing him as only a 20 goal scorer when he gas 189 points in his last 192 games - 6th in p/g among LWs - is pretty deceptive.

You make it sound like he's Noel Acciari.
Acciari was a heart and soul guy. You gotta imagine Guenztels numbers are inflated due to Crosby and Geno. cmon.

We're still calling Vilardi a "valuable piece"?

He had 1 point in 7 games this season as a 22 year old before being sent down to the minors

You know what Guentzel did during his age 22 season?

He lead the playoffs in goals with 13 in 25 games en route to helping the Penguins win the Cup

That "30 - 40 point winger on a good team" has 189 points over his last 192 games

It's fine if you'd rather keep Turcotte and Vilardi, but you don't need to embarrass yourself in order to justify it...

Turcotte alone is more valuable than Guentzel

I also like how people on this website simultaneously act like the Penguins core is old and washed up, but simultaneously their other players are just products of the core.

Crosby for me is still the best all around player in the game. He's not the best offensive player anymore, but he's so dominant in every other area. Draisaitl might be better now, but that's the only guy in the conversation for me. Guentzel is a better version of Monahan. Riding the coattails of a play driver to prominence.
