To Los Angeles: Guentzel

To Pittsburgh: Turcotte, Vilardi

Kings get an all-star calibre 1st line winger

Penguins get a highly touted prospect in Turcotte, plus a young player in Vilardi who has some upside, but could use a change of scenery

Seems legit...

Dude, anyone with a shred of sense knows the Penguins won't retain 50% on a $6mil cap hit with 3 more years to go. They have absolutely zero incentive to do so unless they are getting a major asset back. The 1st, Amirov, the other dumps...no. Not happening.

Source: My f***ing head that holds a shred of common sense regarding hockey.

Jesus tiddy****** Christ,

Can you stop involving Kings players in every trade proposal?
The Kings are not giving up Turcotte and Vilardi for a 20 goal scorer on a offense only team
This dude would score like 8 goals per season with the Kings

Where you get all-star calibre from is far beyond me plus he is totally our of our desired age range.

To Kings: Guentzel, 1st

To Pens: Kempe

The Pens have the rare chance to shed some salary and ad an all-star calibre winger to play with Crosby

The Kings get another pick for their rebuild and ride out the Guentzel contract

LA doesn't have the cap space for this.

They've got 12+ million in cap space at the moment with Doughty on LTIR...

But, yes, they would likely have to include Maatta and/or Athanasiou in the deal, or have something else in the works for when Drew is set to return

I don't think Guentzel is the second coming or anything, but calling him a "20 goal scorer" isn't really fair; the last time he played a full season (2018-19) he scored 40 goals, and was on pace for 47 and 34 in the following two seasons. He was also above a point per game in his most recent 2 seasons. Whether or not Guentzel can stay healthy for a full 82 games is a reasonable question; he's definitely not the hardiest player in the league. But he is a more prolific scorer than you're giving him credit for.

Guentzel is 15th in the league for goals per game over the last three seasons amongst forwards that played 80 games.

This is a joke of a take. He’s scored at the same GPG rate as MacKinnon over the last three seasons.

Are you drunk or something

I don't get why obviously clueless people on this website feel the need to insert their moronic opinions when they don't know what they're talking about.

The Pens have 35 million coming off the books this summer. That "rare chance" wont be all that important in a few months.

And frankly, the last time we did a 1-for-1 change of scenery deal with the Kings, we got a lemon.

 I love this

About Jake Guentzel (who was an all star in 2020) "Where do you get all star from?"

About Kempe (who has NEVER been an all star and barely cracked .5 PPG once in his NHL career): "Pens add an all-star caliber winger"

 Getting Vilardi and Turcotte for Guentzel is never going to happen (and wasnt posted by a Pens fan), but cmon now, how did you write that second post with a straight face after the first one.

Whatever you think of Guentzel, characterizing him as only a 20 goal scorer when he gas 189 points in his last 192 games - 6th in p/g among LWs - is pretty deceptive.

You make it sound like he's Noel Acciari.

Except 1 single time in his career, he barely scratched the 20 goal mark playing with Crosby and Malkin as centers.
How do you call someone who scores 20 goals?

If I were trying to accurately represent his value, I'd call him a p/g winger.

His breakout year was '18-'19 and he's scored at a 38 goal per 82 game pace since then. But there have been injuries.

So again, calling him a 20 goal scorer isn't representative of his value at all. Is that Kopitar's value?

Kopitar isn't the topic here, Guentzel is.
I don't trade for paces or could be's. I trade for what i can see and this is around 20 goals per season.
On the Kings roster that means roughly 10 and this is exactly what i would offer if someone insists on trading him to us.

Personally i wouldn't trade for him at all since he is not a missing piece due to his age issues regarding the Kings future core
