Some GM could send a first for him. He’s a RH Center, good defensively, great pker, has some offensive spark this season and can play on any line if need be. His salary will also be dirt cheap compared to most trade candidates at the deadline.

Dont expect much other teams fans to recognize Evans value

They'll all tell us how we're delusional (stats watching on hockeydb), and then they'll typically say "you don't know what you're talking about", when we talk about their Evans equivalent.

Evans the prototype playoff type center, he's very very reliable defensively and in terms of consistency/effort

He can chip some offense, he's exactly the type of guy who's gonna participate in important goals in the playoffs.

You put him on the market and all the GMs of playoff teams will call.

If he's put on the market, they're gonna be a bidding war.

Absolutely worth a first if he's traded

IMO, the better way to phrase it is that, unless Evans' contract ask is ridiculous (which is open to interpretation) or he goes against expectation and refuses to consider re-signing with Montreal, then its hard to imagine Montreal accepting less than a 1st (or equivalent) in a trade. A two-way bottom 6 center has more value to Montreal than a likely late 2nd and mediocre prospect or later pick).

In what world is a defensively responsible center on pace for 20 goals and 50 pts not worth a 1st? We are talking late 1st most likely not a top 10 pick.

No one is trading a first for a bottom 6 piece towards their Cup run. If you play Jake Evans in your top 6 after trading a first, you're not winning the Cup anyway. There's going to be better players at the deadline that are going to available to use those firsts with better track record + have actually played in those top 6 spots before.

Yeah like Henrique last year right?

Hey if Adam Henrique can get the Ducks a 1st, I can't see why Evans wouldn't get one.

Adam Henrique has also scored 30 goals + usually a consistent 20 goal scorer in his career before. Also most people thought the Oilers overpaid, so what's even the argument here? Lol

Yeah like Henrique last year right?

I was never paying a first for Henrique last year if the Devils were good at the deadline which they weren't.

First pairing right D

I say 2nd line center still a premium need as Evans is seen to be the 3rd center. Reinbacher could be the 1sr RD in the future (even if I never be a big believer)

I want him for the Devils bottom 6, but the ask for a first rounder is beyond comical

You gonna laugh your life when you gonna learn than more than half of Habs fan would even refuse a late 1st rounder for him. He's just a legit part of the long term plan ("The Mix")

I mean that's fine, lol. You guys can keep your guys, I'm just saying that I'm not totally sure who is willing to give a first for him

At 5v5 you have 0 center more productive per minute played this year. Let that sink in.

Also happens to be the most used forward on the PK in the NHL with great results.

I could bet a fat amount that if he’s traded he gets a first.

Ask Colorado fans if they would give a 1st for Lehkonen.
1st rounders are so overvalued in here it's ridiculous.

I would keep him at that point then, lol. A super elite team giving up a first wouldn't even be worth it.
Well I guess it wasn't worth it for Colorado when he score the GWG in the Stanley cup final a few years back. Isn't he playing on their top line now?

Meant for Montreal dude, lol.

I don't mind keeping him but his value is absolutely a 1st.
He will have the same impact as Lehkonen had with Colorado.

If you truly believe that, I would keep him as a Hab. It's not like I don't like Jake Evans as a player, it's just that the value of a first gets deluded and you want a bonafide player. I get yelled at my own Devils fans when I complain about the Markstrom trade, but in a vacuum, he was probably also worth that first.:laugh:
