He did an interview after the game (standing) on the ice and was making jokes... Certainly didnt look like a guy who was in any pain or just broke his leg.
Maybe a hairline fracture? I haven't had a chance to read up on any of this so I'm obviously guessing.

Be forewarned, I have no medical background whatsoever. But I did read that the fibula is not a weight bearing bone. Perhaps this could explain why he wasn’t writhing in pain, like say would happen when one breaks their femur.

Continued

Chris Wagner, who acquitted himself well in training camp, has been called up.

Good news for one of the good ones. I'm sure he'll be given every opportunity by Jim Montgomery.

I've seen him play in Providence a couple of times this year and he played very well..

Wags always puts forth the effort. He is easy to like, and I hope he plays well

That doesn't surprise. When he was sent down last year, he kept his mouth shut, rode the buses, worked his ass off, remained positive, and from what I hear, was an exceptional teammate.

My niece and her mom will be excited by this development; Caroline is good friend's with Wagner's new bride, and my brother in law Joe, sister Julie, and daughter Caroline attended their wedding.

Disappointing because he’s playing the best hockey of his life, but fortunate that it’s “only” about 4 weeks and we’re not in a position where he has to be rushed back.

Hope he makes a full recovery and is right back to it when healthy.

Yup , the good thing here is this is an injury that should be a pretty clean heal. It's not like it is at a joint where injury at time lingers on

4 weeks is great news

Probably a very minor break

See you in February Jake!

This is true, fibula is not a weight bearing bone, obviously pain tolerance is different for everyone but it he most likely felt just an annoying discomfort rather than any serious pain. Fortunately its only a 4 week stint out. Sucks hes gone but its better than a clean break, hell its arguably better than a severe ankle or knee sprain.

f***. This sucks
Huge blow to Bruins because if you look at roster they really dont have many goal scorers per say.Jake has that nose for it.And why Wagner over Lauko is it about wasting options.Lauko is way way waY quicker and better hands

A must read.

it aint free money.

Myself I would love to add to Bruins defense with a guy with some bite .Sounds like no cash available to add any help worth talking about regardless and this roster is what it is come playoffs. If Greer is 13th guy & only 1.5 mil available I rather just keep Smith because really what could u add better at that price?Am I reading this wrong?

No expert but it seems to me that those ladder to injuries can really be double a player. Those are very difficult to deal with. Especially the high ankle sprain. I remember when Looch had that and it really slowed him down for quite a while.
