Michael Ryder was the better player. I really enjoyed watching him play. And his glove save against Montreal was awesome.

edit: That's not to say I don't like Debrusk. I do, but this is one heck of a cold streak.

So do you think Jake is putting in a good, consistent effort out there? What does your eye test say?

I see a guy who barely looks interested at all.

It’d be one thing if he just couldn’t find chemistry. That’s not what I see at all though. Do you see effort that I don’t?

I think he's out there trying. One of the best PKer's on the team.

DeBrusk is what he is at this point, a solid defensive winger who will chip in ~0.50ppg.

Anyone wanting more will be disappointed

Those 4 years where it was full schedule fans DeBrusk played 274 gsmes and scored 98 goals

That’s 29 + per 82 games

Bert had 14 pts in 29 games going into the deadline and obviously returned a 1st round pick from us

JD has 11 pts in 28 games.

Bert has slightly better career numbers but JD has a more complete game, playoff resume, etc. If there was a team willing to cough up a 1st for JD at this time, I would take it and run but we might be looking closer at a 2nd+ or packaged for another player

I have no say in the matter. He is so inconsistent. He played well with Brad and Bergy but who wouldn't? When everyone is well maybe some lines can be established. I believe that would help everyone. I am sure he is frustrated as are most of the fans. If/when he gets it going, I will be on my feet cheering for him.

I hope they do what is best for the team.

I still have hope that Jake will start scoring. I know all his teammates would be pleased for him as will the fans. He seems like a good kid.

Was it marchand and bergy that heinen put up 47 points with or a different line combo? Too many years ago I forget.

Truth of the matter is Jake has never put up more than 50 points in a season. This is season 7 and it doesn't look good for 50 this year either.

Bert hasn't done much yet on an offensive power house. Jakes lower point total was predictable with the turnover at the forward positon

I thought he was going to have more opportunity with their departure. He is getting the most ice time of his career now.

The guy ain’t producing and when you’re not producing you’re gonna attract the wrong kind of attention. Nobody wants the kid to fail. I’ve never understood “whipping boy” unless there’s unjustified criticism and there just isn’t, he’s paid to produce, his defensive attention to detail or pk ability is peripheral not primary.

Heinen was a whipping boy. He hasn't received a lot of criticism from fans lately because he is consistent and expectations are being met or exceeded.

DeBrusk is expected to score goals and be the team's 3rd best winger. Right now he's behind JVR and Frederic, who has also been inconsistent. He has 1 point more than Geekie, spent most of the season so far in the bottom 6, in 5 more games played and 1 point more than Heinen in 7 more games played.

For a player that should be a considered a core player and to lead the Bruins offense as the #2W behind Pastrnak in the future, he hasn't shown that he can be that player. He needs to attack the net more, and hopefully he can pick it up after the holiday break.

During the rona year, Jake was the ultimate whipping boy. But it went far beyond that. It was disgusting the things that were said on here about him.

I will say, some of posters did end up aplogzing for things they said. But dome didn't. It went beyond hockey.

We all say #BellLetsTalk unless it's Jake DeBrusk. Then it doesn't matter. Luckily we are far removed from that era. But even online the vitriol Jake  still gets is insane. You'd think he ran over somebody.
