I am not advocating trading Jake but if that is their intentions and he is not playing again tonight they possibly could be lowering his value to teams that might be interested ...........
 
I’d be surprised if they sat him two games for what has been reported as missing a team meeting (albeit on the road which, as others have said, is worse).

However, I fully support sitting him for last night. With new players and several rookies, you cannot even suggest that missing a team meeting is even remotely acceptable. If I were Marchy, coming into a tough job on heels of Z and Bergie, I’d be well and truly pissed at JDB and have some really strong words for him.

I remember once I had a big decision to make on moving my family for a big job. I was torn and went to meet with someone who I really respected to get advice. His first two questions were “how good was the old boss” and “how well are things running now?”.

His point was that it never hurts to step into a situation where things aren’t so hot. Nothing but room to grow. But stepping into shoes of a superstar going on to greener pastures???

Marchy has a hard enough job as it is, without Jake pulling a high school senior error.

We've been here before last time he requested a trade we complied and all but waived him looking for one. There were no offers and to his credit his play improved. He's not getting a big extension from us and will get a decent payday elsewhere who knows how much. As someone else said he might be setting himself up for a Bertuzzi like disappointment next summer if he has a crappy year.

Why do you think the Bruins wouldn’t extend him?

The Debrusk narrative is really heating up!
 
I guess it happens but jeez it seems stupid for a 27 year old to be late to a team meeting. I want to give him the benefit of doubt, like his uber got lost or something, I don’t know.
I guess he’s super disorganized.

There’s a connect the dots that can be done if people feel like it, might be a worthy excercise if one cares to post about the scratch and his professional acumen in general

Yeah, seems like the last 2 pages is just all rampant over the top speculation, often fueled by personal opinion of the player.

We know he missed a team meeting, and was suspended a game. Beyond that we know absolutely nothing about the situation, and we are likely to never find out.

During last years RS #37,46 and 63 absolutely told Montgomery what to do.


Don't be so naive. You actually think the coach in Edmonton tells McDavid and Draisaital what to do...lol?

Players are telling the coach who to bench?? That's a stretch. I'm sure he gets their feedback but it's not their decision.
