Confirmed with Link: Jacob Trouba traded to Anaheim Ducks for Urho vaakanainen and 4th Round conditional pick

My wife is in the medical pipeline (current doctor; in fellowship now).

Her/Trouba's wife's career is more important than anything. She has a more important career than Trouba's NHL career, salary be damned. I support her 100% no matter what it does for my career. It's that important.

Once you get into the medical SO life-style, it just hits different, and haters can f*** themselves.

Then Trouba should have signed a contract with a longer NMC and a lower AAV. As such f*** him.

“Its a rite of passage to get fired at MSG”

No, Jacob, when you get fired in real life - something that happens far earlier than 4 straight years of underperforming - you don’t get to keep your $8m salary and tell your employer where you want to work instead. You get kicked to the curb.

These guys are f***ing pathetic sometimes.

His contact sucked but we just lost what little toughness we had especially on the back end. What happens when someone rag dolls Panarin again? It’s obvious they’re not gonna be playing Rempe so who’s gonna step up?

One of Carrick, Cuylle, or even Kreider would drop the gloves in a heat of the moment context on the ice where initiating a fight was a warranted response to something that happened to a teammate. Lindgren will also fight but he's not very good at it. Since Trouba was neither a frequent nor regarded as an intimidating fighter to go up against - I personally do not view his absence from the line-up as being any real issue when it comes to that particular aspect of the game.

The mental support alone for a medical residency is undeniable, and I can't imagine doing a long-distance medical residency, financials and physical support aside. It is very stressful to go through, and I do not think it's healthy/worthwhile for anyone to go through even a year of it (even if I don't know her hospital system or workload).
You mean it's not worth anyone to go through even a year of it without their partner? Aren't there countless single individuals going through a residency? I get it's not easy but give me a doctor that has experienced failure and handled adversity any day over a doctor that just has everything go their way. Again, not ideal but Trouba seems to dramatize this like being in another town will destroy his family. The "I was given a choice between my career and family" rhetoric is a bit dramatic. Like there is no space in between for both to exist?

My little starting pitcher boy, chubby faced Drury has finally dropped his testicles. Good start grabbing hold of the reins, now finish the job, Krieder, Lindgren, Smith, and Mika and maybe Miller if he continues to coast - Get Them Gone

Well this guy certainly exists.
At least he’s half decent at defense. Trouba is all red there.

Yeah, he was an issue the second his name popped up. No self reflection on how shitty he played. Came into the season and looked worse.

Thank god he is off this team. Gotta love the entitlement.

F this dude. He didn’t make the decision “because of his family.”

You’re right, Jake should have taken a leave of absence and support his wife’s journey instead of being on the road half the time. Good thing they have some dough in the bank. Good luck to your wife on a serious note.

Going to place my post here as well (Pretty sure in GDT) will NOT be seen too much. Here;

Off topic, IDK how you guys feel about Trouba's trading, but I "LOOK" at this trade from a different angle/perspective. For Me, it's a LOT about k'Andre. Losing his "safety exit" or "diaper pin" maybe he FINALLY GROWS into what we all KNOW he "could be"?

Will be very interesting on "how" he plays moving forward. Please KEY, take on more of a leadership role with this suddenly inexperienced and less physical defense. We need that from him, and he could be NEXT (to be traded) if he doesn't step it up.

I wonder if we are going to start seeing NWC (no waiver clauses) in contracts starting this off season. The way Drury has weaponized the waiver is going to put a lot of players on edge in the future and if they don't have the luxury of demanding a NMC, then a NWC or a NWC + M-NTC could be something we see a lot more of in the future. Still probably favors teams in that they use having one as leverage to negotiate unless players en masse are able to demand them. Before something gets addressed league wide next CBA

To anyone who thinks we should given shit about his wife, Trouba always could have mutually agreed to terminate his contract and sign for minimum to play on the Devils or whatever.

This idea that anyone should care about an ultra-wealthy woman doing what is now a vanity project is kind of hilarious.

She can fly Polaris to see the dude if she wants. She could rent an entire f***ing plane to visit him.

I hope she wipes her tears with the millions of dollars they have in the bank.

Emily said someone in Detroit wouldn't let them move em so Detroit couldn't make an offer that would work for their cap. Players with trade protection: Holl, Chiarot, Petry, Kane, Tarasenko, Compher, Copp (Debrincat, Larkin weren't going to get moved)

Curious what Yzerman's package would have been. They have pretty much all of their draft picks for the next 3 years

I was just going to post that. Very interesting tidbit.

I remember last season there was a lot of talk about players that actually don’t want to come to NYC. How it was never an issue in the past, but there’s evidence right there on ESPN.

Immediately Charot jumped off the page at me. Larkin was a player they targeted in the past. Not sure if there was a larger deal in place.

Someone in GDT said it was Holl. Dunno if that is insider info

You know I am a guy who has defended Trouba a lot from a play quality perspective, up until last year. I also defended him using leverage to block a trade this summer; even though I hated it I understood it from a the player's perspective and accepted it for what it was.

So, I am not one to wish this guy ill. With that said, good f***ing riddance.
Feel exactly the say. We used Goodrow as an example that players have a right to have a say re their employment. That said captaincy by definition implies that the team is above all and this summer Trouba chose otherwise. Maybe that’s why players stop playing… for him as their captain.

Wait a minute, did Emily say it was Detroits player that killed the deal in the summer? If so, that changes the story quite a bit

Yep. Imagine getting “fired” and moved to Southern California at your current salary paid to do less.
