I cannot stress enough how unlikeable the core of this team is. Good god F right off Jake, your dog is the only cool thing about you

Drury isnt done with the purge. I think the vets are on borrowed time but their exits will be swifter if morale doesnt improve.

My wife is in the medical pipeline (current doctor; in fellowship now).

Her/Trouba's wife's career is more important than anything. She has a more important career than Trouba's NHL career, salary be damned. I support her 100% no matter what it does for my career. It's that important.

Once you get into the medical SO life-style, it just hits different, and haters can f*** themselves.

I have no problem with those comments from Trouba. It's fine for him to not feel great about the way things went down, and voice those feelings after the fact.

Still very much pleased that he is gone.
Yeah, feel the same way. Nothing really wrong with what he said. Drury has 0 finesse too, guy wields a meat clever instead of scalpel.

Trouba pretending as if he didn't take more money instead of the NMC/Waiver protection. Whatever dude. You know what would have stopped this from happening? You playing at an NHL level.

The man was cooked. I don't know why Drury didn't trade him in the offseason. I doubt all the wife stuff was enough of a sob story from a 8 mill a year player to stop him. Either way, Trouba got a chance to stay in NYC and completely blew it.

I feel you. Can Trouba not support his SO from Anaheim? Or Detroit or wherever? It's not like he doesn't have the means to support her. He basically bought his family 6 extra months fully together so it has to be worth it for him but even if he accepted a trade, it means his wife finishes her residency in a long distance relationship. That's not ideal but Trouba makes it sound like it's 100% one or the other. Like he isn't already on the road for like 40-50% of the year already.

Trouba exercised the contractual rights he earned, and made Drury play by his terms over the summer. Check.

Drury in return used his rights to respond accordingly today. Checkmate.
Yep. That's exactly it. Anything else is just cope.

The mental support alone for a medical residency is undeniable, and I can't imagine doing a long-distance medical residency, financials and physical support aside. It is very stressful to go through, and I do not think it's healthy/worthwhile for anyone to go through even a year of it (even if I don't know her hospital system or workload).
