Hilarious hockey karma here.

First Trouba rejects WPG causes he’s too good for the Peg.

And now NYR rejects Trouba cause he’s not good enough for the Rags.

See ya later you head hunting primadonna bitch. And for those asking if he is this bad? Do you not watch playoffs, Trouba BLOWS.
What team do you root for? Hilarious hockey karma should Trouba end up there.

TRouba's issue is his contract and that he's the Captain. You can't pull 8M and wear the C and be the 6/7th D.

Trouba will play out this contract then sign with a contender for far less and will get his name on the Stanley Cup.

If he's that bad (and I'm not saying he's not, as I don't watch the Rangers) then why is he still 3rd overall among Rangers defensemen this season for overall ice time and even strength ice time?

Why do the Rangers hate Trouba so much? I feel like it goes beyond his playing ability. The guy won the Mark Messier leadership trophy a year ago. He seems like hes the type of player that GM/coaches generally like but the fan base doesn’t like.

Its kinda baffling to me. I get it from the fanbase point of view because fans hate contract and cap hits. But it feels weird from the teams perspective.

So in a scenario like Frank outlines here where a deal is agreed to with Team X, then Trouba is placed on waivers so Team X can claim him, isn't there a risk that someone claims Trouba before Team X? Would this all be conditional?

Ignore "No one is claiming his contract for free" excuses.

I'm referring to a guy that's done f*** all in the playoffs most of his career
Weak response. His numbers are not spectacular but there’s nothing to be ashamed of, he won many series including the sweep of the record breaking Tampa team

Because they don't hold players accountable here. Especially defensemen.

My isles have a chance to do the funniest thing. We suck right now and could use a shake up. Trouba has only 1 year more I believe after this. Only problem is isles would need to trade Pulock and/or Mayfield and I don’t see them doing that.
I would trade Mayfield for Trouba.

No, waivers in the NHL aren't conditional.

Pretty rare to see a team's captain get kicked to the curb like this.

I thought he'd be a good fit on Vancouver's right side, but then realized he is just an 8 million dollar version of Tyler Myers.

I have to assume he gets waived, not sure anyone would take him at 8 mil, and can't see why the Rangers would want to retain.

Mayfield and Engvall going to Rangers from Isles in a very very rare trade between these 2.....:sarcasm:

I'm not asking if the waivers themself would be conditional. I'm asking if the trade would be conditional on something like "Jacob Trouba appearing on Team X's roster (via the waivers in question) in the next 24 hours"

Otherwise I am confused how a trade can be left up to such uncertainty that no one claims him on waivers first.

Maybe a team at the top of the waiver order (Ducks, Habs, Preds......) can swing a dead weight for dead weight type of trade before waivers.

My guess.. put on waivers.
Claimed on waivers tomorrow
next day, a conditional trade to the NYR from the team that claimed him

Circumvent!

Happy to not see my Oilers in the mix... these seems like a boneheaded move we'd make.lol
