Imagine that little twerp being the guy that re-injures the knee of the man that has already had 2 extremely taxing ACL injuries/rehabs

Hope Fabs is all good

Yeah, this is what I’m actually pissed about.

The intent likely wasn’t there but it’s frustrating that this hit could derail Fabbri’s injury again and he’ll likely get nothing for it.

Dirty play and can really wreck someone's career with a hit like that. Something Fabbri is all too aware of with knee injuries...

Not sure that was Hughes' intention but that's just a very dangerous and reckless play.
He will learn from this mistake- if people saw the whole play Fabbri juked the opposite way and Jack is a good enough skater to attempt to cut back - didnt work obviously

Though most of this thread will have you believe it was intentional since the internet makes getting inside peoples heads apparently easier than being on a neurosurgeon’s table

Hughes is going to be nuts in a couple years. The slander on here for an 18 year old is crazy to me.
I also cant wait for Kotkaniemi to make some Montreal fans look silly (even if I dislike Montreal lol, I like seeing young players do well, though not all)

That whole video of reactions at the draft were funny lmao

Chickenshit hit from Hughes, don’t be like him sticking his leg out there...super dangerous. Hope Fabbri is alright.

It's obviously not clear because many logical people do not see it that way.
By "logical" I assume you mean "NJD fans"? Not sure how you can even have an opinion on a person's leg being sticked out, either it happens or it doesn't. You either observe it correctly or incorrectly, but incorrect observations don't actually change reality as it happened.
Yeah, he has tripled Joe Thorton's production when he was an 18 year old in the same amount of games and will outpace LeCavalier, but you do you bro.
Slight differences in opportunities received.

Looks like a guy who doesn't know how to hit, trying to hit, misses and extends to catch him anyway

Exactly. He decided in the split second to throw the hit but has no idea how to.

Instead of lowering his shoulder he half-assed it and stuck out some arms and leg to avoid any recoil.

On pace to be the worst top pick ever

Patrik Stefan played at a lesser pace.

Although, terrible missed empty net aside, I think that honor goes to Rick Dipietro.

Anyway, I don’t think that hit was intentional but Hughes probably should receive some form of disciplinary action if the NHL wants to maintain a semblance of zero tolerance.

Don’t think he’s trying to go for the knee. It looks like he’s trying to hit him and Fabbri kind of moves out of the way and the legs collide. Legit think Hughes doesn’t know how to throw a hit, which makes it’s dangerous and Hughes should see a fine coming his way. The retaliation was intentional and dangerous but I don’t think knee on knee was.

For context, Hughes felt like Fabbri threw an elbow a few seconds before this. Retaliation for the hit, which looks like Fabbri is trying to toss an elbow also.

Devils fan here who didn’t watch the end of the game. I don’t know if it was intentional but it was dirty. I figured there was another side from what I was reading on the home board.

Benefit of the doubt to the little fella, never seen him being dirty and this seems more like carelessness than actual intent.

But that still is a clear as a day kneeing.

Are you actually trying to explain your opinion as a fact?

Hopeless.

I hope Fabbri didn't get a serious injury from that. He's been through so damn much and finally was getting his career back on track. Hopefully someone smacked Hughes around. If they didnt, smack him around next game.

Hopeless.

Because it is a fact that he stuck his leg out? You can try and justify why he did it... but that’s an undeniable fact that he stuck his leg out and went knee on knee and I have no possible idea how someone can say otherwise?
