Before y’all get vicious, forgive me for having ever done a trade proposal before lol. Just tell me what adjustments you’d make or if there is one.

Caps tryna skip a full fledged rebuild when Ovi-Backstrom age out

caps have tons of veteran depth at every position but G. Let’s assume they make a side deal with Seattle to not take a goalie or want Oshie (maybe). Caps need to clear space for Eichel (I haven’t bothered doing math so that could be an issue... but that caps depth is paid so moving some..)

after expansion draft:::

Caps: Kuznetsov + Oshie (youngish solid C and veteran, popular, still good Oshie) or one of our cheaper Defenseman (if the math can’t work with Osh)

+ Vanacek or Samsonov

+ possibly any depth forward and or a prospect other than McMichael. Protas or Alexeyev only if the math can’t work with Caps quality vets (to correctly place around Sabres young men)

Sabres: Eichel + any toss in to make money work
Lol. I won't be snippy, but that doesn't do anything meaningful for Buffalo moving forward. Kuznetsov and particularly Oshie don't fit on a rebuilding team. Ultimately you don't have the necessary young prospects, high picks or young roster players to make a serious pitch for Eichel.

You clearly have zero clue who reinhart is then .

Nah, you'd just have to be in lala land to think that you can get an asset like Tkachuk for Reinhart.

Reinhart's trade value right now is like a 1st and a good prospect, akin to someone like Zucker last year. Unless Reinhart is also coming with an extension, you're not getting better than that for him.

If he comes with an extension, I think you could get a 2012 Jordan Staal like package for him. A young top-9 forward with possible 2nd line upside, a good prospect and a 1st kind of return. But without an extension, he doesn't have anywhere even close to the value you think he has.

IMO, Flordia makes way too much sense.
Tons of cap room, can split the top 6 C with Barkov making them one of the top C depths in the League. Wingers in Huberdeau, Duclair, (the new) Bennett.

Good mix of young cheap guy, decent 'help now' guys with upside, and picks without hurting their main core pieces.
Lundel + Denisenko/Tippett + Levi would be a fun starting point.
Lundel dominated his draft +1 year, and was a top 15ish pick.
Denisenko had a good year, recent top 15 pick.
Levi was alate round G draft, but has looked phenomenal since, including at the WJC.

Seeing how Tkachuk is going to be a 9 million dollar price tag soon and declining from his 34g year after year and having major Maturity issues.

And you have a rising star in Reinhart who can play A first line centre position and 1st line Winger.

And he's a pending UFA after next year who has vocally voiced problems with wanting to stay in Buffalo. Not to mention that Reinhart is a RWer on a good team, he's not a center on a good team. Same situation as someone like Domi.

I find it odd that you're criticizing Tkachuk for what he's going to make on his extension while not acknowledging that Reinhart is bolting from Buffalo after next season if they don't trade him.

Oh yes, Buffalo is such a good team and him playing center on Buffalo proves he'd be a 1C on a good team.

Max Domi put up 72 points in 82 games in 2018-2019 as Montreal's 1C. That's better than anything Reinhart has ever done. Outside of that year, Domi has completely flopped as a center in 3 different organizations. Why is Reinhart any different than that?

You just said he wouldn't be a center on a good team

Yes, and you pointing out he was a center on Buffalo counts for nothing because the Sabres are ass.

He's no different than Domi or Guentzel when it comes to him being an effective center on a good team. He's not one. He's a top line winger that can sub in at center in a pinch, he's not a center on a good team.

And even if we pretend that Reinhart was an effective center, which I don't think he is, what makes him more valuable than someone such as 2012 Jordan Staal? Staal was actually a dominant 2-way center that was coming off of 2 seasons with around a 60-65 point pace. With a massive extension, he brought back Sutter, Dumoulin and the #8 overall pick in a bad draft.
