WTF is "Whas" ??????????

As for your trades; Sabres easily decline the first one since Zib 100% walks, Kuznetsov will very likely block any trade to Buffalo, Devils don't even consider that.
Why wouldnt the Devils? Holtz had a very bad season and Hughes certainly hasnt shown to be worth anywhere close to Eichel

Man I would love to see Jack on the Jackets with Laine as Laine needs someone else to drive the play. Not sure what it would take but the Jackets have 3 first round picks this year as a start.

I don't see how that could happen. Other teams have better available prospects. Stacking up a bunch of 1sts I hope isn't the return the Sabres accept. The Sabres need to get blue chip prospect, preferably center.

To WSH: Eichel

To BUF: McMichael, Fehervary, Schultz (cap purposes), Samsonov, 2022 1st, 2023 1st

Caps would subsequently move Kuznetsov elsewhere to free up cap space

I wonder how much value he lost with the neck thing.

He wants a surgery no NHL'er has ever had before, cant imagine the Sabres are the only team that has reservations about that.

Do you know what surgery he wants? I haven't found info about the details, just that he wants surgery and the team doesn't want that.

I love seeing posts like Dumba, Rossi, ‘21 1st, ‘22 1st and hearing Sabres fans come back with “we don’t want or need Dumba”. You need everything and the team isn’t really in a position to operate based on want. Take the best package you can get. Flip the piece if you don’t like it. It’s still a piece that has value. Half your roster wants out and you realistically have no idea what your team will look like in 6-12 months at this point, and the team isn’t good/deep to begin with. There’s almost no point in saying there’s any position you don’t need. Treat it like the draft. Take the BPA (best package available) regardless of whether you think you want/need the pieces. You’re about to see a full tear down and rebuild anyway.

California teams would be smart to pursue him.
Sj doesn't have capspace or top prospects.

Bernstein is fueling the fire for Anaheim and LA, especially LA. I don't know how to feel about this, the cost will be high and his rare injury isn't making this appealing. Also, kings need wingers and LD, not more centers.

No, we don't need everything. If Dumba is so great why is he on the table. Keep Dumba.

Not saying he doesn't have value.

Your words "full tear down and rebuild" so why take on Dumba and that contract.

I'm sorry that you are annoyed that the Sabres have no desire for Dumba. Maybe some other team will like him, or better yet, keep him and prosper?

Anyhow, there's no Eichel trade before the expansion & entry drafts. Dumba may not even be a Wild when a trade could theoretically happen.

He wants Cervical disk replacement surgery.

From Elliote Friedmans 31 thoughts

I find it hard to believe Eichel isn’t consulting the best of the best, while Buffalo’s reticence comes from artificial disc replacement lacking evidence of its effectiveness on elite-level athletes. It’s a relatively new phenomenon. As far as I could find, there are no examples of NHLers who returned to play after having one.

31 Thoughts: What caused the 'disconnect' between Eichel, Sabres

Theres some more info about the surgery in the article

He’s got value. Flip him for more. That’s all he’s saying. If the deal is Rossi, 2 1sts, Beckman plus Dumba, and then you flip Dumba for another 1st and good prospect, the deal becomes 3 1sts and 3 good prospects. You don’t keep Dumba in that scenario but he is another good piece in the deal.

is the answer jesus

The problem with Dumba isn't actually that we don't want or need him it's that we'd lose him or another defenseman like Ristolainen in the expansion draft. Which is the same issue the Wild are now facing. I don't think for a second you'll get anything all that great flipping one of them hurriedly pre-expansion draft either. As for the rest of the deal Rossi sounds great until you hear about the awful after effects he suffered from Covid. Serious heart issues that were so bad I still don't think he's cleared to workout. Now chances are he'll bounce back, but why is Buffalo taking that risk when other teams will offer similar high end prospects with no potential long term issues? A late 2021 first is a nothing burger, a 1st in 2022 from one of the better up and coming teams in the league (who would now be getting a franchise centerman to boot) looks again like a nothing burger. The package is light and contains too much uncertainty for Buffalo.

I think by mid/late June, Rossi will either be training hard for the upcoming season, or he won't be?

If he has a full medical clearance, Rossi/Rask/2021 MW 1st for Reinhart makes sense for a Sabres tank perspective, which I think is probably the best way to handle 2021/22. But, only if Rossi has a full medical clearnace.
