No they are not on the same level.Eichel and Matthews are at the same level now with Eichel threatening to push ahead and become the better overall player, wouldn’t of predicted this after their rookie years. Eichel keeps progressing and is an elite player.
Eichel has proven he can drive a whole team forward, and established himself as an early Hart candidate. In my opinion, Matthews has to prove he can play at that level now, before I hold them in the same regard again. Not saying he can't. But Eichel is ahead atm, and it's up to Matthews.Eichel and Matthews are at the same level now with Eichel threatening to push ahead and become the better overall player, wouldn’t of predicted this after their rookie years. I was wondering what happened to Don Cherry.Islanders are kind of heavy and can target Eichel. Games like these highlights the issues of having a soft coach/gm. No one can protect him or give him space. Meanwhile Martin and Clutterbuck are out there looking for a big hit.
Dubas style GM's and european coaches (adhering to european hockey) will never work in this league.
Caps, Boston, Islanders and St Louis are four old school kind of teams. Heavy and tough to play against. Guess what they also have in common? They're all top five in the league atm, and three of them have been in a SC Final the past two years. But good luck with Dubas and the other soft "modern coaches."I was wondering what happened to Don Cherry.
Got you.Time to edit this title to Top 5.
Guy is worth the price of admission, amazing player.
